As someone mentioned, Shoot Straight feeds on Noobs (with wads of money apparently). I have never seen higher gun prices ANYWHERE...a couple years ago I was looking for a P7 PSP (German police trade in), they had them for $1000! NOT a P7M8!

At this moment 16 of the firearms in my safe came from Shoot Straight over the past 20 years. Both new and used. Every single deal was a good one. Some of them are amongst the best deals that I have ever gotten.

I will admit that most all of these purchases occurred at Gun Shows that they attended. Only one transaction was from the store. The store transaction was a special order of two S&W revolvers with special serial numbers. While this deal was not GREAT, it was not bad either. I was treated quite well during the several interactions that it took to go from start to finish. These revolvers created a complete set of 8 shot Model 27s all with the same serial number. Here they are with the other two matching numbered guns (manufactured 7 years earlier).

Even with the Gun Show purchases, they were great. They allowed me to pick the serial number of the ones that I wanted where there was excess inventory. I disassembled and inspected the firearms at the show. Sometimes I inspected more than one if I did not like the first. Here are a few that I have previously photographed.

This is a USA Shooting Team Gold Cup from the late 1990s. This is one that I checked out all the serial numbers he had at the show. The price was well below market for a Gold Cup.

This is the Deluxe 20th Anniversary IPSC Commemorative. This is one of 50 produced and one of even fewer that received the Ivory grips. Besides being priced at less than half of the MSRP, their inventory had the matching serial number to my 10th Anniversary IPSC Commemorative. It was a good day.

This 8" Ultimate Stainless Python is one of 3 Pythons that I have bought from these guys over the years that I still own. Another example of a GREAT deal at the time. This was purchased NIB for way below market pricing.

I have also purchased a used 1006 from them, plus my Double Eagle 10MM first edition, several Walthers new and used including my P88. There obviously were more over the years that are no longer with me, I just do not recall all of them.

Now perhaps my experiences are different because I am not out looking for the same Glock that 1000 other guys are looking for. Most all of my purchases are on the more unusual side of things. I do not know. Clearly My Mileage has Varied from many of the previous posters.

That's just it. Glocks that sell everywhere for ~$500, Shoot Straight thinks they should be over $600.
I didn't know they had any shops near Ft. Lauderdale.
My experience with them only goes back 8 years...perhaps things where different before.

Shoot Straight of Tampa has LOTS of guns. They are usually on the high side though. The level of bullsh*t from their gun store commandos is often amusing... so do your homework before you pay them a visit. Wink

I think you mean Hwy 46 don't you? That's the next major state rd south of 50, closer to Tampa.

They currently have those $650 PSP's from CDNN with a super anniversary sale price of $879!

When I was stationed in Tampa in 2004-2005, I did all my business with FLORIDA FIREARMS. The guy that ran the store was retired military and honest to deal with. He had no problem trying to find whatever I wanted. I have no idea if the place is still in business, but would be worth your time to look for it.

My most recent transaction was early this year. The store I deal with is on 17/92 just north of Orlando. I almost went over there yesterday after lunch. If the road closures looking for Rodriguez had not crippled the highway system, I would have had plenty of time.

Anyone been to The Smokin Barrels in Lutz? They have an air-conditioned range, but I haven't been there, yet.

I am not a Nobel Peace Prize winner, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

The Smokin Barrel has a pretty nice range... and has not been crowded... but they will not let you shoot hand loads in your own gun... Mad

I won't buy guns from them after they cheated me on a gun receiving deal... charged me sales tax and said it was an ATF regulation!!!!! After that I didn't trust their honesty.

FWIW

I went there and it seemed ok, but really made me decide that I don't like indoor ranges. Exhaust is never great, and it really stuck in my craw to have the guy go through my range bag looking for reloaded ammo. I then decided I wasn't going to shoot there. I've been reloading for 40 years, and if my reloads and my money are no good there they can go scratch their a$$!

I bought my CZ 75b SA from them at a gun show in WPB. They have a ton of inventory/selection and had good prices if you haggle with them a little. But all in all, I would buy from them again.
