It's not generally above and beyond after 3 calls and a lottery of getting someone on the line who actually cares.

It sounds like SIG went above and beyond. They clearly state the warrenty is for the original purchaser and isn't tranferable. The same as S&W and others.

It does seem to me, as well, that Sig went above and beyond in this case. To be fair to Sig, Sig has made it very clear that the warranty is only to the original owner. The purchaser of a used Sig is not entitled to any warranty support. When Sig helps out the owner of a used gun, anyway, at no charge, then it would seem they are doing a very nice favor.

A non-transferable warranty may not be policy of certain other manufacturers, but those other makers are irrelevant in this case, as we're talking about a Sig pistol here, not a Smith or a Glock or a Ruger. Sig has always been pretty clear in what their policies are as to the lifetime limited warranty.
