Yeah....if I could find additional short triggers, that would be my Plan A.
Ah, missed the short trigger requirement.

Some older Ruger Semis? 89s I think they were?

A P89 is a fine gun that would make an excellent hammer or club should the need arise as well.

If you need a spare Short Reach Trigger I can give you one, instant karma. From a 229, not sure if it's the same as the 250. If it is, it's yours.

I would figure with all the 92s you own you are never more than arms reach away from a beretta!

If you're looking at rapid safes, I haven't found anything better than the Hornady RapID safes.

I'm one that doesn't have guns stashed around the home, but I always carry at home. It might just be a pocket .380 when doing chores around the house.

Part of the reason why I don't is my concern for theft. The other is that chances are that if I need a gun when not awake, the one next to me when sleeping is the one that I will grab for a bump in the night.

I'm a firm believer that if guns are stolen it's only the fault of the thieves, but I do want to do anything I can to slow them down. If that's a concern be sure and look for good ways to store those guns and don't just use the cheapest thing that will keep your kids hands off the guns... and make sure it is bolted to something solid.

This or put a WTB in the Classifieds for one and maybe find a bro' wanting to part with it.

There should still be some short reach triggers for the 250 out in the field for purchase.

Very generous, thank you, but its specific to the P250 because of the fire control module.

I put up a WTB here for one in any case. I've found a deal on two Ruger SR9E's w/ a pair of spare mags for $510/shipped. I guess I need to handle one first to know if its going to be too big for my wife though.

Check out the Ruger American Pistol. It's heavy, but that means the recoil spring can be lighter NS easier to rack. I felt the medium grip was small to me, so the small might be good for your wife. And if I remember right, the trigger was near the grip (not like a DAO 250) so the reach shouldn't be an issue. They might be a bit more spendy than you want though, they're running around $350-375.

I picked up another P250 this weekend:
Compact 9mm. FDE Frame. Night Sights. 2 Mags.
$349 from Williams Gun Sight in Davison MI.
Used but looks lightly fired.
Get another P250, since you are familiar it.

So....I listed my P250 for sale here. I was going to order a pair of P07 Suppressor Ready models for about $860/total (sort of gets away from my "inexpensive" goal). Got to thinking about the P-01 I love but never shoot and then saw a deal for a P-01 Suppressor Ready model for $559/shipped. That gives me my pair of the same setup and I can stash my direct thread Liberty Centurion in the bedroom if given the luxury of a few minutes

I carry a Glock 19, including when I’m in the house

I also keep a Glock 17 by my bed

And a Glock 17 (and my pocket carry 43) in a safe on top of the fridge in the kitchen

And a Glock 17 in the safe in the basement

I use the tangodown/vickers colored baseplates on the magazines so everyone who needs to know, knows which gun is the one that is the go to defense

I also keep a carbine by my bed

A shotgun appropriately hidden on the main floor

And another carbine in the basement near the man cave

I have friends that think it’s extreme

I worked as a profiler once upon a time with violent offenders

I think I need more

So...I'm looking for options. CDNN has a sale on the Walther Creed for $269. It fits the bill of "simple and rail-equipped". Given I'll need at least two (three preferred) to stash in quick access safes, any other recommendations out there? My wife has small hands and has issues racking a slide so that's one reason we initially chose the P250 (she's practiced with it using snap caps and its still tough for her).

There are some decent options for Turkish guns too....SAR has several, similarly priced. I don't care about anything other than 9mm,reliability, simple manual of arms and as cheap as possible. They're gonna sit in a pistol safe, not be carried or shot much.

Get another P250.

Same controls and the 250 is a fantastic pistol. SIG never should have dumped it.

I agree.

In addition, I am not a fan of the "disposable evidence gun" idea. A gun I don't shoot often nor appreciate is not one I will rely upon for my life's sake (at least not when given a choice). Though this is from my biases, since I've tried a number of "I don't care" guns, and I found I didn't care to shoot them, either!

If you like 92s, stick with them. They aren't horribly expensive anymore, though the railed requirement runs a bit of a wrinkle in that plan (especially since Beretta is being quite slow on resuming M9A1 production).

I too just continue to wear my CCW when home until I put my PJ's and robe on to relax for the evening, at which point a Ruger LCP or S&W 638 goes into my robes pocket.

Works for me.

I second the vote on Summit M&P .40 for $269. I bought one and it is absolutely mint. I carried a G22 on duty for 10 years, loved it, but the M&P .40 shoots much more softly. Mine came with functional night sights and two magazines. I've got 500 rounds through it with no malfunctions. It is my HD gun and I couldn't be more satisfied. Mark Summit is great to deal with. Easy and trouble-free transaction. Buy with confidence.

yeah...its not about being disposable as much as not in my regular range rotation as they're meant to be accessible in the house and therefore rarely if ever used.

I'm starting to get to a place in my collection, I'm gonna have my shooters and my legacy/collectibles. I want to narrow down the variations in my shooters as its hard to get proficient when its a new gun every time you hit the range.

So, Sigs, Berettas and CZ are in that rotation. The other commonly available stuff is getting sold to fund the nicer old stuff I want to stash away (T-series BHP, older pattern pistols, etc).

I'm going to trade my ODG P-01 tomorrow on a 30 Luger High Power and order a second P-01 Suppressor-Ready model so I've got identical setups; a Liberty Centurion suppressor in reach of each. Great, inexpensive compact 9mm cans that are quiet.

Plus....the P250 Compact w/ medium, frame is perfect for my wife's smallish hands; the 92's are not.

PX4 compact man. I got a new one for $350 recently. They have excellent triggers out of the box and the controls are extremely similar to your 92’s. Pretty much same controls. Full size versions can be had at $379-399. May a bit more than your less expensive options but they are fantastic and very underrated pistols. Same manual of arms is a big benefit.

Compacts would have been nice but prices have gone way up on them lately. I missed the $325 after rebate price new about two years back. Having several Cougars, I appreciate the similarities and was very close to buying a pair of the Type C PX4 in .45 that Classic had for cheap. But, they're full size and my wife has small hands so not ideal.
