This is my first new sig in 10 years! I've always purchased preowned, but haven't seen one come up for a P239. This will be one of my CCW guns. Please give me your thoughts on this handgun!

You're gonna love it.
I have a pre owned 9 with the SRT and it's a great shooter.
Good luck with your new pistola.

I have a couple, both in 9mm with one being a SAS gen 2 still unfired. The one that I do shoot is laser accurate and has been totally reliable. It's a little heavy some will say for carry given the fact it only holds 8-9 rounds though it shoots like a much larger gun and is very comfortable unlike some of these poly micro 9mm guns out there. You shouldn't be disappointed and if you are it will sell easily. Congrats! It's one of my very favorite Sigs.

I've got one. It's one of my favorites. For its size, it's very easy to deploy quickly and land shots accurately.

Watch your thumbs. You have to hold your right thumb away from the slide or pin it down with your left thumb like you would with a revolver. Otherwise the slide won't lock back when it's empty.

I had two of them in 9mm. Quality, totally reliable little pistols. Only reason I don't still have a 239 is that another pistol fit me better. Just personal preference, nothing wrong with the 239s at all.

I found the front of the grip really hurt my hands, but it is my understanding that the Hogue finger-groove grips fix that.

Almost bought a P239 in .357 SIG a few years ago. Kinda wish I had done it.

They're a good option for carry as far as compact sized pistols go. I bought one in .357 Sig several years ago and after purchasing a used .40 S&W barrel through SF's Classified section carried it in that caliber since .357 Sig wasn't approved by my department.

Another thing I like about the gun is that all I need to do to convert this model to 9mm is to utilize a standard 9mm barrel, recoil spring, and either of my other magazines! That kind of versatility isn't present with any other pistol that I own, except my P250. Something you may want to consider before buying a 9mm version of the P239, as this one is not convertible to .40 S&W or .357 Sig. Wink

I have a very rare P239 SAS GEN1. Awesome shooter, great looks (two-tone with wood grips).

Given how rare they are, I have only put about 200 rounds through her. Now she's a safe queen :-)

Many of the small pistols are difficult to shoot well. The P239 is not. Great summer carry gun.

The P239 is my go to carry gun even though some do not like the capacity. I didn't care for the original grips so I swapped them out for some G10 Piranhas and the gun fits and feels great. The Piranhas do kind of irritate the skin though if you are not wearing an undershirt.

As Billy346 said watch your thumbs or you will hit the slide release and keep it from locking back if you run through all the ammo in the magazine.

Great choice! I love mine (9mm) with the Hogue finger groove rubber grip. More accuracy than I am capable of.

While low on capacity, I've just made it a point to carry a few extra magazines.

The Sig P239 in .357Sig is an outstanding combo - right up until you put a set of Crimson Trace laser grips on it! Then it becomes perfect! Regardless of the laser usage, their grip makes the P239 perfect. Something about the size, angle and texture.

The p239 in 9mm with hogue G10 grips has been my favorite for years. Most accurate and flawless shooter, however it always felt a bit top heavy. Then I held the new P225-A1 and bought one and it has now replaced the 239. Both excellent pistols, but the 225 fits my hand perfectly- the extra 1/2 on the grip makes a huge difference. To me the 225 is a single stack p228, and also fits in the 228/229NR holster. Also fits well in a crossbreedp239 iwb
