I tried posting this question before, but never really got an answer as the thread got sidetracked. The SCT P226 came with factory Magwell Grips similar to the current Blackwater Tactical model, but was later changed with regular factory grips. Sig did not sell them factory with the mag grips very long, and perhaps only a couple of months, but dono?? My question is: What year did the SCT come with the Magwell Grips?

I don't recall seeing SCT's from the factory with magwell grips.

I heard 18rd mags will not fit with the magwell grips installed. I do not have any 18rd mecgars to test this.

Not a hijack, just a quick question.

I got guys here saying in a previous post that they did make it, but not for long. I actually remember seeing them on the Sig web site,I think?. As soon as the Blackwater Tactical came out with the same grips with the BW logo, they stoped putting them on the SCT. They may have only produced a couple hundred and then switched over to regular factory grips. Question is, when exactly were these produced?

Not to jack your thread, but the grips are available in a standard Sig blister pack without the BW logo. NOS?

WRONG,
The SCT was not speced with jet funnel style grips and did not ship with jet funnel style grips. The SCT was on the market for nine or ten months before the jet funnel style grips appeared on the BW Tactical. My two P226 SCTs and partners 2 SCTs were ordered when the SCT was first announced. It was three months before they shipped and they all wore standard P226 grips. Our P229 SCTs obviously shipped with standard grips as well.

Three months or so after the BW Tactical was announced, kits containing a set of jet funnel style grips and three SCT magazines could be purchased from SIG or SIG dealers with the P226 logo or the BW logo. To the best of my knowledge, these grips never appeared on the SIG website.

Many of our Forum vendors offered these kits to Forum members for $165.

I was kinds hoping that they made it. I wanted to believe it and was trying to find someone who believed it also. I was affraid this would be the answer. Why on this earth would Sig not put those funnel grips on their production line? I'm very disappointed...

That's life I guess..
