Are you aware of the history of the 220? Do you know that the first 220 prototypes were built for the 9mm only, and that only after some time did SIG and Sauer decide to make the pistol a multi-caliber platform? Do you know that 220s were first available in 9mm only? Do you know that there are tens of thousands of 220s chambered in 9mm?


In the case of this particular gun, yes, the steel frame makes it less than practical, but that 9mm slide can be put on an alloy frame as well.
With regards to the malfunctions I've experienced, one needs to keep in mind that this is a parts gun. It's going to require some tweaking. If you read further into the thread than the first post, you'll see that I have made some progress with my efforts, and she's running better. The pistol is about to be sent to GGI, and when it comes back, it will be close flawless.
But the fact that exists at all is neat, regardless of it's practicality, and I'm the only kid on the block who has one. So let's lighten up and try to appreciate this project for it's novely and educational benefits, shall we?
