I bought 2022 9mm from Top Gun Supply,here are a couple pictures I posted.
http://sigforum.com/eve/forums...=426107891#426107891

I field striped it,

and the mags.

Cleaned, lubed and took a 100 rounds of WWB out to shoot it.

Everything worked, zero failures. the sights are regulated a little different than my 220 but I got into the groove of them pretty quick.

My groups aren't as tight as my 220 but, I am already convinced that with practice that will change, the gun is very accurate.

The trigger impressed me for new out of the box, smooth pull all the way Thur on DA and a crisp, clean "break" after take-up on SA.

There are only 2 things about the gun that I can say that are negative and both are not the guns fault. Both have to do with my extra large hands.
1 The grip on the 2022 is just large enough for me, a quarter inch shorter and my pinkie would be hanging.
2 When shooting DA I have to put the end of my shooting finger onto the face of the trigger,if I have the trigger face in the middle of the 1st pad I can not pull trigger back far enough to fire the weapon. I adapted pretty quick and would do it with out even thinking with a little training. My 220 sure has spoiled me Cool

So I brought it home striped it again and clean it up. I think I'm going to keep it.

I have some ammo on order on line and I'm waiting. Smile
BTW it has no German proof marks on it and the black box is marked nitro, which it isn't, it is triple serial numbered and the frame says "frame made in Germany" & has a loaded chamber indicator so I not for sure were it came from but, I'm impressed with it.

I had the same issue with not being able to pull the trigger on my 2022 in DA unless I moved to the pad of my finger. I replaced the short trigger with the standard trigger and that fixed the problem. From looking at your pics it looks like your 2022 has the short trigger. Hope this helps. The SigPro is a great pistol. Congrats on your new purchase. EnjoySmile

I picked up the .40 sp2022 from TGS yesterday which apparently is pure German and comes with the standard trigger so I'm very excited to get my hands on it. Thanks for the quick look.

It's funny, one of the reasons I gravitated toward Sig is because I found that I really like metal guns more than poly guns. And yet I absolutely love my 2022. In terms of grip it may very well be the most comfortable gun I own. As a result I shoot it very well and it has pretty much replaced my Glock 19 (yikes! Is he allowed to say that!?!).

Great pics and write up! I love my 2022. I too have large hands and got much better response when I slipped a Hogue slip-on grip onto it.

Since you're keeping it, Steve @ SCP has mags for like $23! Eek

If you have snap caps I'd do some dry firing, it's about all the trigger time I've gotten lately. Frown

You can also grind the lanyard loop off the back end or buy a new grip w/out.

youcaipa, congrats on the SP2022 it is my favorite Sig Sauer pistol.

The short trigger takes some getting used to but that DA and SA pull is perfect in my opinion. It does help out if you swap the trigger to a standard trigger.

I took one of my 9mm SP2022s to the range tonight and shot some of the best groups in a long time.......I will post up pics and a range report on monday when I finally get some free time.

Brand new SP2022s already have a very good trigger pull but it will improve after about 1,000 rounds or a bit of dryfiring. It also does not hurt to put some grease on the sear/hammer area.

Am sure the trigger will get better with more use but, it's pretty decent now.

When my ammo gets here I'm going to run 400 rds thru it and "proclaim" it good Smile

I have to get a set of 9MM dies and start reloading for it. (this is getting expensive Wink) That will make my neighbor happy he has a 9.

One thing I forgot the night sights are brighter than I thought they'd be.

Reloading is a very good idea. First buy all the small pistol primers you can find. Next buy all the cast lead bullets you can find. Make sure bullet count is equal to primer count. Then buy as much powder as you estimate your needs will be. Then and only then buy your dies.

Congratulations! Now, put a standard trigger on it, get a black SS guide rod and replace the grip with a non-lanyard loop one, or file it off. Perfect! Wink

Trigger, yes the SS guide rod maybe.

The lanyard loop I like, just for the record. The fact I dropped a Ruger blackhawk (that Hamilton Bowen built for me in 2001)in about 15 feet of water while fishingFrown Red Face and had to give some teenager 20.00 to retrieve it has nothing to do with it. Wink

Agreed! At one time, one of the best kept secrets out there. That cat is long out of the bag. I have a very hard time keeping the things in stock. That's a bunch of pistol for the money.

You guys aren't helping me one bit. I want one, but between insurance payments and a dental implant I just can't afford one right now and when I can they'll likely be gone. Right now I'm having trouble affording a 22 conversion until for my Sig 220 and I rationalizing that by the cost of .22 vs. even reloaded .45 ammo. Razz

The thing I hated about the lanyard loop is that when I'd bang a mag in, that damn loop never failed to hurt the shit out of my palm. As hard as I tried to get used to it, it always seemed to bite me half the time!
