Don Williams put gold beads on two 1911's for me. He bought black Heinie sights, and drilled the front for the bead (the bead has a "tail" to go into the drilled hole). The bead was from SDM Manufacturing, which, I believe, makes the bead used on the S&W revolvers. You just need a black front sight. No tritium, that cannot be drilled out.
