Probably re-arsenaled after the war in Germany.

The Mauser M2 was SIGs first entry into a double stack 45ACP pistol.
Yes I said SIG. SIG has owned the rights to the Mauser name for handguns for many years now. The M2 came out probably 7 or 8 years ago and was discontinued about 3 or 4 years ago. It is a rotation barrel lockup much like the Colt All American 2000. If memory serves, that design actually came from Reed Knight. The firearm is a DAO and was offered chambered in 45ACP, 40S&W and was supposed to be released in 357SIG. None of the 357SIG items made it to the US. I have two of these, one in 45ACP and a second one that started life as a 40S&W but is now chambered in 10MM. The grip frame is a bit large and not all folks are comfortable with it. If it fits your hand, buy it. These are built like little tanks. They are very reliable and durable. The rotating breach greatly reduces perceived recoil in these firearms. In fact the 10MM M2 barely feels like shooting a 40 from a P229. |
