My EDC is a 229R in 357Sig. I also carry a 226, but not in 357. This round can be a little snappy, especially if you're a newer shooter. I'd love to shoot 357Sig through a 226, especially an ST, as the extra frame weight should help with recoil and coming back onto target. The 226 also has a longer sight radius, which will aid in accuracy.

I can't compare it to the P229 as my 229 is .40 but my 2022 is my only .357 and I like it so much that my next handgun will definitely be in .357SIG. The 2022 handles the round very nicely.
