I never claim to be a great shot but the 220 Compact, in spite of its little size is very controllable and comfortable to shoot. These targets were from 10 yards, standing, first shot DA, with "disciplined fire" i.e. shooting as fast as I can recover the sight picture but no effort to make screaming fast double taps. I am probably preaching to the choir here, but the P220 Compact is IMO, an outstanding pistol. It just may replace the 239 as soon as I get a good holster.

Nice shooting. I have a P245 and think it is one of the most underrated compact .45’s made.
Let us know what holster you settle on. I bought a Galco Fletch but the gun did not fit properly (I confirmed that it was the correct model). The trigger impression in the holster was rounded while the actual trigger guard on the gun was squared like yours. The gun would not seat fully which kept the retention strap from closing. Good luck. |

Nice shooting! Never handled a 245 or Combact P220 but they look like really nice carry gun and if they shoot like that! Goodness.

Great shooting and a great gun. I have one that is a SAO and it's an excellent shooter also.

Nice shooting. I have a P220 Compact that is one of my favorite pistols for sure. It's a nice size and handles well. As info, I carry mine in a Milt Sparks VMII that I bought for my P229 -- fits perfectly.

I also have a 245 but the 220c has a much much better trigger than the 245 & while I was skeptical about the beavertail as just something to snag on the draw, I now think it makes a substantial difference in grip and controllability.
Holsters may be a problem for this gun as no shop locally carries any for either the 245 or the 220c. However I live pretty close to MidWay USA and once before I ordered a holster from them, checked fit and returned it (without using it). For a good product at a good price I am very fond of FIST, I have two OWB for 239. I am going to call them to discuss the 220c in their 245 holster. |

Nice shooting with a great pistol.
I went to the range this morning with my SigP220C 45cal, my SigP239 40cal and a little sweetie S&W 317 with a 22lr revolver. I new how much loved both Sigs and thought it would be interesting and fun to compare how I did with both laying there side by side shooting first one three round sequence and them immediately shooting the other doing the same increasing the number of rounds until exhausting a mag in each one. Results were..ta..ta.. darn near equal from 20 to 45'. However, The P239 with it's nice slim frame won out in the comfort category, but don't mess with my 220 cause I love it to. The S&W 22 held it's own as well. Man, if any of you guy's ever find a OWB holster that really fits the 220 please share it with us. Note: To you guy's who have extractor issues just return it to Sig and you'll get it back within 2-3 weeks and never have another problem. It happened ato me the first day I had the gun at the range. Dealer didn't want to take care of it and since I had put the purchase on my CG I threatened to canceal the buy and give him the damn gun back. Amazing how fast he changed his tune. Seems like everyone loves their full-sized 220; and I've seen consistently high praise for the Compact.
So, how come there seems to be so many problems (or gripes) with the Carry? |

That's the million dollar question. I personaly don't have a problem with mine so I can't give any 1st hand thoughts but it seems odd that they can make the full size P220 and the Compact work just fine but not the Carry. I carry my P220 Compact in a Sparks VMII for IWB, and a Kirkpatrick's Compact Undercover #2145, for OWB. These were made specifically for this model.

Thanks for the pointer, the 2145 looks good and is a reasonable price for leather. |
