my 220st is marked made in germany. i bought it new in 01 i think, maybe 02. it has the euro rail instead if piccatinny. was this gun common? trying to post pics soon. thanks

I have no idea how many were made. I doubt anyone does. It was the earliest version of the P220ST built on the P220 Sport frame. The "euro" rail is actually there to mount a compensator or barrel weight on the P220 Sport. SIG did make an adapter at one point that would allow you to mount tac lights or lasers on the rail.

It's not particular rare or sought after but is an excellent firearm. Enjoy it!
