I put a few magazines through a Glock 23 chambered for the .40 S&W this morning.

I am glad I've already gone all out M&P; otherwise it would be tempting if the trigger could be made better.

Which is one reason why I went Glock, because the trigger is easily and cheaply modified. I haven't done it yet, but there's the $0.25 trigger job, and if that doesn't smooth it out enough, I'll spend $25 and get the ghost rocket.

Someone once asked me if I was getting a little on the side. I said, "On the side? When did they move it?"

Why do you collect guns? Same reason some people collect snow globes. To kill badguys.

She started to go off on another tirade of insults and our instructor absolutely shut her down, "Just stop right there, you showed up to a drag race on a pogo stick and this isn't going anywhere."

Do I have to? I already currently have 2, with conversion barrels for another caliber. I'm trying to recall over the years how many I've bought/sold/traded. A 19, 21, 26, 27 twice, 23 twice, 22 twice, 17, might have been a 30 in there at one point, can't really recall.

So I owned 4 Glocks, Now since I joined the Coast Guard and carry a 229 DAK .40 I have sold them all and now own 4 Sigs.

This seems to be different from most people, but I admit I truly Loved my glock I was fast and accurate with them all. but after shooting 6k through g17 in competition and training I went to the range to shoot my 229 dak for qual with the coast guard and was having a hard time exceeding.

so now I have a 226r DAK 9mm, a couple of 229's, and one M&P that I got for the wife.

Go Sig or Go home.

I went back to the Glock side. After visiting my fourth gun shop today I found the last in-stock G19 for $529. Smile

For almost 4 years, I've been periodically looking at this thread thinking "Not me. No way. No how."

Well, today I picked up a brand new Gen3 G19. I won't have a chance to shoot it until tomorrow or Wednesday.

My normal carry pistol is a P228, and while I haven't gotten caught up in the recent buying craze, I noticed that one of our local shops hadn't marked up their prices and had a G19 in stock. I've been carrying AIWB for a few months now and wanted to try the Raven VG2, which only is available for Glocks. I figured this would be a good opportunity to get a backup carry piece and try the new "holster" system.

As usual, Para was right. Wink

I wasn't sure I would ever do it, but on the 10th I bought a Glock 23. The previous Saturday I was at the range with my brother and shot his newly acquired Glock 22. That was all it took. I really like the trigger a lot more than I thought I would, and recoil was very manageable. So this last Saturday I took my new pistol to the range and ran about 50 rounds through it. Not too bad for a .40 S&W. I just may have a new CCW.

Yeap. I think my first post in here was a year or two ago. I wasn't telling anyone that I wouldn't get one, but regardless I picked up a brand new G30SF (my current main squeeze). I love it, so much that I'm putting in a lot of extra dry fire time just to try and get the hang of the staple gun trigger in contrast to the Sig I grew up with.

"Why is self-control, autonomy, such a threat to authority? Because the person who controls himself, who is his own master, has no need for an authority to be his master. This, then, renders authority unemployed. What is he to do if he cannot control others? To be sure, he could mind his own business. But this is a fatuous answer, for those who are satisfied to mind their own business do not aspire to become authorities."

Pardon the dumb question, or the thread detour, but how do you dry fire a Glock? I am used to DA/SA with hammers.

Do you rack the slide just enough to cock it, but without extracting the snap cap, or do you not even worry about snap caps?

Thanks!

You have to rack it each time. Most just dry fire with no snap caps, but I heard Glock has since changed their stance and does not want excessive dry firing without snap caps.

God damn this thread..

After owning my G21 for awhile, I now want a G30S that was announced today at the shot show....

GLOCK Unveils the New 30S Pistol Model

SHOT Show Sets the Stage for Unveiling of Latest Offering from GLOCK

SMYRNA, Ga. (January 14, 2013) – Today GLOCK, Inc. announced a new addition to its pistol lineup – the GLOCK 30S. The conceal-and-carry hybrid pistol features impressive stopping power consisting of a factory-made 36 slide on top of a 30SF frame. Its compact design and simple operation allow smooth drawing in a .45 caliber pistol. The 30S packs 10 rounds of .45 ACP in a package that fits the hands of most any user. The G30S is easy to use, easy to conceal and tough to contend with.

“The G30S platform has been more than a year in the making,” explained Josh Dorsey, GLOCK Vice President. “Our original request from the field – particularly from law enforcement – was to have a more concealable .45 that still carries 10 rounds, so we utilized the G30 SF frame after it was thoroughly tested, presented and accepted as the desired frame for the G30S.”

Thank you to James at the Tacti-cool website for the info.
He is at the show and provides constant updates for what he finds..

I will buy this pistol when it becomes available... Big Grin

Allright. I think I'm about to take the plunge. If the LGS still has it, I'm getting a 20 today.
