I think my latest Glockitus boils down to this;
I've been getting into 1911 pistols the last 18 months.
The more I get into 1911s, the heavier the Sig trigger feels to me.
Most of my Sigs are DAK.
I feel my latest lean towards Glock contributes to wanting the shorter trigger of the Glock over the Sig.
Took my DAK P229 to the range and rented a G19 today.
Also took the new RIA tactical in 9mm.....
This is what I ended up with at about 15 yards:

The RIA is a fucking tack driver.
It took a bit of getting used to the G19.
It naturally points higher and has a true 6 o'clock POA.
I think a G19, new or used, with better than stock sights, will be in my near future soon..

Long time Glock hater, just got two: G26 and G19. Both in one week. Next to my Kahrs- my new favorite pistols.

1990s - SO ugly, no hammer, they point funny, the frame might warp in Florida's heat.

2011 - Reliable. Affordable. Simplicity & few parts is a good thing. Finish resists sweat & salt air. Have yet to see a warped Glock.

OK, I'm persuaded.

Just got my 1st Glock home. A Gen 3 OD frame G21. One thing I discovered while at the Gun Shop, I handled the new Slim Frame G21 and cannot honestly say I like it any better than the Gen 3. Being of skinny paws, I have always liked the more hand filling pistol grips.

I picked up a Pearce grip plug filler and a package of 45 Auto A Zooms while there. I lubs the green frame and will get to the range first thing Saturday morning. I need to better understand the Glock factory sights but, have always been of the oppinion the darned pistols point like a finger. I will never like a Glock as much as a Sig pistol but, one cannot be stuck on just one platform forever.

Shes a big generous piece and I like that.

Sold the P229 to guy in Georgia yesterday.
It ships out Tuesday..

I see a G19 in my near future, probably a Gen 4.
I will eventually send it out to XD-HS2000 to install some Trijicon HD sights on it.

I crossed over to the dark side about three weeks ago. I thought I'd wind up with a revolver but got a G26 Gen 4 instead- my first Glock. I'm liking eat more and more each day. I got night sights on it and finally got it out to the range yesterday and put 100 WWB downrange. Worked like a charm! I'd buy more in the future- no doubt!

I just picked up a lightly used 36, in large part because the seller kept dropping the price till it fell into my own personal "what Glocks are worth" price window. So far I like it, despite having no real use for it. I'll play with it a while and no doubt it will become expendable like the other ones.

The real problem with me owning a Glock is it makes me want to buy an HK and try for "one of each" again. The P7 I had, had me looking at FN's (cause they were next on the list). When I sold the HK I no longer need the FN after it or Glock I had. (HK seems to be the crux of "one of each for me for some reason) But I sold the Glock to buy a CZ which really started it all over again. There's logic at work here I swear, you just can't follow it. I better sell the 36 fast.

FWIW the 36 is the most "un-Glock" Glock I've ever fired, feel wise. It's the only Glock I've ever been able to get slide lock on without cutting of the tab. Also the later generations feel much better to me than all the early Glocks I owned in the past.

I bought a Gen 4 Glock 17 a few weeks ago. Was never interested them and liked my Sigs and XDs better. I always hated my friends .45 cal Glocks. Could never get used to them.

The 17 gets better every time I pick it up. 9mm is the right caliber for Glocks in my opinion. Points and shoots perfectly with just a few days practice. I'm going to leave my Sig at home and run it for IDPA next weekend and see how I do.

This thread predicted my future. I can tell you now that I will own at least a 26 and a 34 also.

So Ive never liked the grip angle of Glocks, but the new Gen4 17 I checked out was great.

Now Ive got my girl seriously thinking about carrying (finally...but only when she's ready mentally and physically!) and we have been discussing action types and sizes. We have decided on 9mm. She wants small, but is intimidated by too small, just doesnt seem right, she says...so LC9, etc out. She REALLY liked my 228 and 229, but they are too big and heavy...she wont end up carrying it.

Today in the LGS we saw a Gen3 G19...aha! "Look at that size, baby." I say to her..."Wow that looks perfect!" she replies.
Yep...thats what about 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 other people have decided too.

Now we just gotta make sure she likes the grip and the action (she is used to the DA/SA of my Sigs and HK).

Is the Gen4 gtg now in model 19 flavor?

I think this might be perfect...and a perfect excuse for "me" to get the Glock Ive always wanted!

Bingo. The 17 and 19 fit me perfectly with no need for the Gen 4 backstrap options. Both my Glocks were laying on the kitchen counter today and I walked in the house from knifemaking and my oldest daughter was pointing my 17 out the window and commenting..."This gun fits me like a glove! I want one!! It's perfect!" Oh, Brother, I just got her a Smith Model 15...looks like a Glock is in the future...

We think alike. I want a 26 also. Maybe next year's GSSF buy will be the little guy.

Yeah, an interesting pistol, the G21. Even though I hardly ever shoot .45 ACP these days, I ended up with a G21 last year. I wanted the RTF frame from the pistol so I could mate it to my G20 top end, which is how it's now configured.
I hadn't handled a G21 since they came out nearly twenty years ago, and after having played around with the G20 for many years, it was odd to handle the G21. The forward balance of the pistol is slighly different. Because of the bigger hole in the barrel than the G20, the pistol is lighter forward of the trigger guard, and (to me anyway) it gives the G21 a livelier feel in the hand.

Hell, I'm almost tempted to shoot the thing. Wink

Supposed to be shooting mine today but its hotter than heck out. Clouds are looking stormy again. I see a interesting trend of late concerning the discontinued OD guns. One, they are getting harder to find and, a dealer who seems to have scooped up several is asking $1,000.00 for a G19 just because it has the green frame. Gouging a bit I would say. He has a OD 21 and a OD 20 at auction and will sit there and wait for them to go over a thousand each. I hate greedy people.

I landed a OD 357 Sig model which I am very proud of. It and my 21 will never be resold. Nice to know Para that the 10 mike mike gun is a bit heavier up front. Hope to have one when I can.

The gouging does suck. I had the opposite experience with Bud's last year- they had a special on OD Glocks when it was announced they were being discontinued. I got a new 33 for $100 less than the usual NIB price. Very happy I timed that right, it was a great deal.

Jesus Christ $1,000 for a G19?! Thats messed up!

Id rather have the black anyway. I remember thinking about that when I was fondling one of each for the same price in the LGS.

But if someone is dumb enough or wants it bad enough to pay that...more power to ya, I guess.

I don't know which is why I asked.
