This P239 has been in my collection since 2004, longer than any other firearm. I used to carry it a lot, especially when riding my motorcycle. Over the past few years I drifted away from carrying it opting for things such as HK P30SK, SIG P365, Kahr K9, CZ75, Glock 42, and a few others. I found myself missing it so I dug it out to carry again. I hadn’t even handled it for a long time and had forgotten how well it fits my hand.

I’ve also stopped using IWB holsters and transitioned to OWB holsters over the past year or so. High Noon Holsters has had a lot of great stuff in their 50% off clearance section lately and I lucked into one for the P239. I’m happy to have it on my hip again. I also snagged some nice leather for my P365, HK P30, & Glock 19.






I’ve also got a P239 SAS but never carried it. The P239s are really great pistols, one of my favorites from SIG.

I love my P239 carried it a lot last summer! It was the P239 or my P30sk. Both are invisible in my Vedder Aiwb. My Usp full-size .40 has been my daily since September but now I can’t decide between the 3....

Dang it, looking at those pictures above I think I need another one just to put a good looking wood grip on....

I too have started carrying my P239 in 40S&W again. I was carrying a P229C in 9mm for the longest time but decided to go with something a little thinner since I went to carrying with a inside the waist band holster.
The only downfall is I am now also carrying an extra magazine so I am able to have 15 rounds available. While carrying the P229C I did not have to a spare magazine because it has 15 round magazines as standard equipment.
To me the 40 is a little snappy but easy for me to control.

One of the things that was drilled into me while taking the defensive handgun class at Front Sight was the need for a spare magazine.... not so much for extra ammo but in case of a malfunction.

I know some folks (both here and out in the world) will think it strange, but I always carry on my person (even when not carrying a pistol) swiss army knife, nitroglycerin tablets and a spare magazine for my P239.

The P239 was the gun I took my first carry course with. Still have her, she wears some nice hogue G10 these days and like you I went OWB many years ago. I need to get that old P239 out one of these days. Maybe if I can ever just grab a box of ammo on a whim again.

The last group photo with the wood grips is sexy.

Blume, is that a P239 GOTM in the center of your photo?

I know what you mean. I’m itching to shoot about anything at this point but won’t shoot from my ammo reserves right now. I’d love to put some rounds through this P239 and the second Model 41 a picked up a few weeks ago.

You always take wonderful pictures and those 41s are very pretty but I am an unwashed heathen ........ I never liked the 41. . I know, I know....it’s ONE OF THOSE PISTOLS.....But they never blew my proverbial skirt...errr kilt I guess up.

That’s why I have bought some 22 recently. Still overpriced but not AS overpriced. Me and the son took out a SAA clone in 22 and a Kadet and pretty much burned through a bulk pack. Pricier than it sounds. Lol

I too find myself “rediscovering” guns in my safe. It’s like Christmas.

I have a P239 SAS Gen 2 in 9MM that I haven't taken out of the safe other than to wipe it down in a few years....but I can't bring myself to sell it. I have a feeling it is going to pass to my estate.

Some people consider me a heathen for putting a suppressor on mine.

The P239 is a great pistol. Mine were factory .40, and each have .357 barrels to go with. I bought up a boatload of magazines when Sig dumped them dirt cheap, a few years ago.

I bought a .357 Sig caliber P239 years ago and converted it to .40 S&W, then 9mm by addition of the necessary barrels and recoil spring. Although I don't carry it much these days, I'll always keep the system handy.

I was just catching up on some of the sections and here's a thread on the P239. I was just wondering what I was going to carry today and you all convinced me it will be the P239 in a Ryan Grizzle "Georgia Snap". Mine's a 40 SAS from around 2007.

That is one that was offered in the classifieds here and a fellow member snatched it up right away... about 30 minutes before I would have... then about a month later he contacted me and said he really did not care for the 357 sig caliber and was I interested in it.... I snatched it up...

Stainless Upper and the lower has the CCR CPII coating as well as a short reset trigger that has been tuned even better, night sights and a set of Crimson Trace laser grips.... it is the pistol I carry.

I’m pretty sure GOTM = Gun Of The Month but I’m not sure what this references or who designated it as such. I’ve seen the term used on the forum before.

Yep GOTM = Gun Of The Month which was a program Sig offered for 4 years (2003,4,5,6) where members of the program could purchase the months special. Here's the list of guns which is also linked in the Sig serial number list at the top of this forum; http://www.guidosst.com/GOTMs.html

I have owned one of the April 2005 GOTM P239/40 which I purchased second hand in unfired condition. I know of a member who still owns two unfired ones or did along with many other members owning many others.

These guns were GOTM but sig also did small batch releases of many of the same configurations as the GOTM before and after that special. Some are identified in the serial numbers and other aren't so it can make for some confusion at times trying to figure out if what you have is a true GOTM.
