I asked the same question before and you do not need to go through an FFL for these kits. They can ship directly to your home. As for where to buy one, I do not know. I am sure someone here will tell you where to get your kit. |

Right now the only place I know of where one can purchase the conversion kits is via Sig Sauer directly. You do not need an FFL for the kits (that the whole point of the series-it's ability to be converted to different calibers/sizes). Hopefully, Tom at Top Gun Supply will be getting these (Compact .40 S&W) kits and others in soon.
BTW: When I spoke with Customer Service at Sig last week, they said the only kits currently shipping were the Nitron slide versions. No untreated stainless (two tone) sets yet. I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken. |

Have an order request into Sig for the kits and will be substantially less than price mentioned, so contact us, if interested. Correct that kit can go your home without need for FFL involvement.

Short trigger's already available on the Sig Proshop website. And yup, I ordered mine last week.
Now the conversion kits are on the way too? Go Sig! |

I just read a review of it in Dillon's Blue Press where it was referred to as "Mr. Potato Head for gun owners"
Forensic Science: If you can't keep the peace, keep the pieces. |

Raydog, Have you installed the short trigger yet? If so, how does it compare to the regular one? The reach on the P250 is fairly short already with the thin frame, and works fine for my smaller hands as is, but I though it might be worth trying out anyway. Chris Chris |

I ordered it Friday and it normally takes 4 business days for Proshop stuff to get to me. Hope to see it tomorrow or Thurs.
And I'm with you 100%. I don't really have a problem with the standard trigger. Just thought a little extra reach might be an improvement. And if not, meh. . . just another thing to go in the "to eventually be Ebayed" drawer. |

Zender, still waiting on answer!
Raydog, you just ordered "short trigger" separately, I presume? Since there are no "grip panels" like on regular P series guns, grips will be far less "fat", so should accommodate most shooters, except thoe with very small hands. Full size 45's should ship within 4 weeks and some "subcompacts" 9 & 40 should ship before year end! Can book "preorders" for any! |

Yeah, I just noticed it on the website friday (I check it periodically for ANYTHING P250 related) and grabbed it for poops & giggles. |

Has any police agencies started to use the P250 or will it take a few years for that to happen?

Sig has delayed building 250C 40 kits due to shortage of magazines. Said today they will start building kits in a few days, so expecting magazines, to complete kits. Let us know if you want one?
No news yet on subcompacts? |

Why are they releasing the .45 in Fullsize first? That sucks!

Sox, dont throw any rocks at me since you're in neighboring Roswell! Probably doing full size 45 first since 220 sells better than Carry, but only a guess?

There are some police agencies outside the USA that have purchased the P250 DCc. |

Review on the Short Trigger: Installation was so easy a caveman could do it. Check this excellent post for complete disassembly instructions: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/150601935/m/6961064631 Removing the trigger is the 1st step in those instructions. So this should take you about 2 minutes to complete! Pay close attention to how that spring is attached and it'll take you 2 seconds to replace it. Don't pay attention, and you'll be fumbling with it for a couple minutes (like my 1st time taking the trigger assembly apart). For tennis fans out there, I use a 4 5/8 grip on my rackets and put thick cushioned grip tape on it. That's on the "large" side for you non-tennis players. But my hands are about average sized. i.e. I can't palm a basketball! I like my tennis grips big and my weapon grips kinda small. Probably because of the way I rotate my hand clockwise on the grip to seat the pad of my finger on the trigger and the backstrap right in the "V" of the thumb and trigger finger (puts the recoil directly down the strong side arm). The short trigger seems to make this a little easier for me. The thinner "cut out" portion of the trigger and its exaggerated curve creates a little pocket for my finger pad when I first place it on the trigger. Pulling the trigger still feels the same: long & smooth as butter. I also feel like I have more control during follow-through since I have more purchase on the trigger. Or, I should say, the trigger has more purchase on my finger since that pocket "grips" my finger in a way that's hard to describe. This felt good during rapid-fire. However, some people may not like this sensation. So, it was a nice little improvement for me but nothing earth-shattering. I think I'll keep it. If you know you have small hands, then this is probably a must-try for you. You'll surely see a bigger difference than I. If you have average to large hands, then it'll just be a preference thing. I suspect many people in that category will probably HATE it. Especially if they're accustomed to the standard trigger. |

I have tried to ignore the P250, because I want the .45. So let me get this right. The 9mm that is avail now is on a compact frame, correct? I have handled this version, and find it to fit me well. In other words, I don't need a mag ext to keep my pinky finger on this grip. So I will assume the full size will be more along the size of a regular P220?
So if I wait and get the P250 in .45acp, on a compact frame, I can get a kit to change to a 9mm, since the .40 and .357 is not of interest at this time. The kit consist to convert to 9mm would be a slide, bbl, guide rod and spring, and mags. Forgive me if this has been beaten to death, but like I mentioned no real interest til the .45 was avail. So seeing the .45 will be out hopefully this year, I am all ears, and getting prepared to possibly get one. Now tell me where I missed something or did I get it right. Thanks guys. Shoot'em to the ground! Gabe Suarez. |

The .45 ACP versions will require a different grip frame than found in the (currently available) 9mm and .40 S&W compacts. The full sized 9mm/.40 S&W/.357 Sig grips will all work with the conversion units of any of these calibers, as will the full size or subcompact grips of these three calibers. For .45 ACP, you will need a grip frame (full, compact or subcompact) specifically for that caliber pistol.
I spoke with Sig on Friday regarding shipping on the .40 caliber compact conversions and they should be leaving the factory within a week (once the magazines are paired with them). The .40 S&W subcompact conversions are not expected out until 01/2009. I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken. |
