Unless you have leverage problems, it's good to use the pad, even with a revolver.

I took the P250 Armour's Course at SigArms in NH in April 08, and I was able to purchase the small frame for the P250 from the Sig Store. I do not remember the exact price, less than $50.

I really love the small frame.

I purchased a 250 when they first came out and I am extremely happy with it. Here's my beef - I was told upteen million times that the full-size frame and magazines "will be available soon...". Could sobody from Sig get off their rear and give me a straight answer as to when these things are going to hit the street. I bought this gun because it is modular - so far I have 2 holsters - that is about a modular as I have been able to get. Sig - you have buyers waiting that are losing their patience! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Sorry for the rant - I am just tired of waiting.

Fwiw, around 400 rounds of WWB spaced two months apart(135, 100 & 165) without cleaning. No hiccups whatsoever.

From the looks of it, it should easily hit 1,000 rounds without malfunctioning and cleaning. It's a keeper.

If the .40 version was available in the full sized frame I'd already own a 250 - hope to see them soon!

Yikes! 30+ pages to sift through. Anyone know if the full size frames are out? Did I skim correctly that a different frame is in the $50 range?

I saw the P250 .45 prototype yesterday at the International SOF conference. Interesting, a definite contender. Full size frame looked a little funky (LOTS of 1913 slots on the rail), and the slide was slightly wider than the standard P250, but overall not a bad size for a service gun. Not sure what the magazine capacity was - I'll try to find out today.

Bottom line from Sig Rep at ISOF: .40 and .357 versions should be available in about 6 months. Full size and subcompact conversions for 9mm, .40 and .357 should be out at the same time...

Regards,

Kevin

The Compact is the only grip module out for the P250, but have they come out with the S/M/L grip sizes yet? I love the feel of the SP2022 large grip and am looking forward to a P250 that fills my long fingered hand.

I haven't seen the large size yet, but I do have a small that I ordered from SIG. They may be backlogged in filling orders, though. I'd give them a call.

Like Sigfreunde, I ordered a small frame for my compact directly from Sig. They don't seem to be advertising its availability yet but if you call you may be able to get one.

I wish houge would make lowers, maybe even laser grip. Just wait until some jackass makes a carbine kit that takes the serial (imagine the ATF gripe.) I also want a 250 airsoft to practice with.

While I always admired the modularity concept, the profile of the pistol never appealed to me.

Then one day, I saw one at a local gun shop, and I thought "What the heck, I'll take a look just to see what all the hoopla is about."

DAMN! That thing has a SMOOTH trigger action! Eek I was surprised to say the least. It's a MUCH nicer pistol than I expected.

Just picked up my 250 yesterday. I ordered it from Sig on the Individual Officer Purchase program about 8 weeks ago. They said it would take 6-8 weeks to get, and they weren't exaggerating.

On examination, I found the pistol to be well-made with an exceptional trigger. Now, I'm used to both Glocks and 1911's, so when I say exceptional, I mean it felt very good to me. I thought the trigger stroke to be very smooth.

Today, I took the 250 to the range to qualify with it and break it in. I found the sights to be well-regulated, and it was relatively easy to group my shots. I performed the standard department annual qualification course using 50 rounds of Winchester White Box 115 gr. 9mm. The course consists of 10 rounds at the 5 yd. line, 15 at the 10 yd. line, 15 at the 15 yd. line and 10 at the 25 yd. line. I was able to score a perfect 250/250, with the majority of the shots clustered in the 10 and "X" rings. The rounds hit right where I aimed them. I had no problem getting used to the double-action only trigger, and found I liked it quite a bit.

The only problems I experienced were two FTE's. I cleared them both and continued without time penalty. I began to suspect that the problem might be with the 115 gr. Winchesters. After shooting all 100 rounds I brought, I loaded three magazines of GDHP 124 gr. +p, which is our duty round. The 250 ran flawlessly using those rounds. The accuracy was quite good, as well. To say the least, I'm quite happy with the 250. I'm now looking forward to the .45 ACP version.

FTE w Win 115 USA (especially the value packs) seems to pop up w some guns that run fine w other ammo.

Recently read about a rental range on the east coast that had 3 P250s in heavy use. All three broke the trigger bar spring between 20K - 40K. Considering how cheap the spring is and how easy it is to replace, I would not call that a real problem.

With that many rounds something is going to break. Have seen parts in the original 220R go a lot sooner with a lot less use.
