Thanks Jostro ( and everyone else that commented on my questions). I'll enjoy looking and trying all the suggestions :-). BTW, I saw my first P250 last week and I must say that I thought it would be smaller in size. It didn't seem to be any smaller than my P229. As I'm still new to all of this, is my P229 a compact gun in the sense that the P250 is? The P250 was certainly nice and light in weight but the size didn't seem to be much (if at all) different to what I have right now. Have a great and safe week everyone. Best UtahGuy |

I am really interested in the SUB-compact size when it comes out.
I love my 228 but I am always interested in something even easier to conceal. |

No. Not an engineer. But enough experience with firearms to know they don't have enough R&D into it to justify the price. That's not to say I'm not going to buy one once I see all the goodies released. There's a lot to be said for being able to go to the shop and build myself a lego gun just for me... Men and Women are EXACTLY THE SAME... If you're NICE to them they LIKE you, If you SHOOT them they DIE. |

What is the barrel length on the "full size" Sig 250. Here in Kanukistan we are not allowed to posses handguns with barrels less than 4.13 inches. (actually it must be longeer than 105mm).
2nd Question ... Will Obama strike down the 2nd Ammendment. Actually the first attempt at "gun control" was to keep them out of the hands of "Blacks", interesting, eh? |

I am a quasi engineer (industrial designer), and I can say that the P250 DOES have a pretty severe R&D effort behind it, both in Europe where it originated and here in the US. Let's not forget some of the big technical achievements behind this weapon: - The first pistol with a modular fire control group. - A single sheet metal component that provides the frame rails, slide lock stop and support for the trigger and assorted other components. - The first pistol where the entire grip area is swappable on the same registered part. - The first hammer fired pistol with the main spring contained entirely within the hammer. The P250 is like a lot of great products - to offer something simple (modularity) SIG had to push a lot of technologies forward to make it happen. Sort of like an iPhone, it seems really simple until you consider what they had to accomplish to make the magic happen. ------------------------ Are you now, or have you ever been, a liberal? |

I handled a P250c at a local shop today and was very impressed by the incredibly smooth and light DA trigger pull.It is considerably lighter and smoother than the highly regarded DAK trigger in my opinion.Although it has a long reset.
I had no trouble gripping the pistol and stroking the trigger with my small hands on the so-called medium sized grip frame.I easily held the gun rock steady while I stroked the trigger. I completely agree as Michael Bane stated earlier in this thread that it is a born again P225.The grip feel is very similar to my own P225 although the trigger guard is roomier and the DA pull even lighter.I think the 250c points really well.It felt really light weight and well balanced despite having an empty magazine.I don't care about the accessory rail for concealed carry but it does give the gun flexibility if the need arises. I think Sig has a winner here and I look forward to buying one as soon as I thin out one of my lesser used firearms to help fund it.The price seems reasonable and competitive to me.Locally $619 for Nitron and $669 for the Two-Tone model. I'll sneak over to a popular local range and see if they have a rental I can try. "The early bird gets the worm and the second mouse gets the cheese !" |

No other calibers, caliber kits or grip sizes.[/QUOTE] My P250 is on the way....and the compact frame with the slim/small circumference grips for $49.95. The dealer I use had a few large compact and 2 small/slim compact. Modicast has already called the dealer and he said unfortunately he is now out of the small/slim grip with the compact, he will have some more in 2-3 weeks. I should be recieving mine the next couple of days...I'll post some pic's when I get them |

Just posted pictures of those grips in a new thread I just started, they are in fact, the real deal.

I got a chance to shoot a P250 today, and I liked it alot. I have to say, I really liked it. The trigger is really long, but super smooth and like others have said, there's no indication that you're at the end when it fires. I think my fiance will really like it, as she liked Kahr triggers and this seems very similar to me.
I'll probably get one once the various sizes start coming out. Michael, I did nothing. I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything that I thought it could be. |

Just another squirrel wondering when the subcompact is coming out. I keep postponing buying a CCW until it is available.

Any word on threaded barrels or those going to have to come from third party vendors?
If Sig plays their cards right, they could have a number of third party vendors offering a menagerie of goodies for us. The gang at CavArms could make limited runs of pink frames for the Pink Pistols. Just think, you too can have a TapCo frame on your P250. Sorry, just had to slip that in there. wganz All that is complex is not useful, and all that is useful is simple. Mikhail Kalashnikov كافر צבאות |

I don't know, I have a Cavarms lower (two in fact) and it seems to be very good quality. I've NEVER had anything Tapco that was worth a damn.

Thank you. Please add me to the list. I just purchased the P250 today. It's an amazing piece of weaponry.

I just bought one today. The trigger is long as you say, but it's all really what you're use to. I'm use to Glocks. I'll get use to this, too. It's a non-issue for me because it's all so smooth to fire. |

I did a qual course with mine the other day and have to say that it did great. My issue to start with was not the trigger but bringing the weapon a little too high on target. I am used to the heaver front end of the 220. When I say too high I mean like maybe a inch in the group at the 7 yeard line. Not a big deal. Also at the 25 yard line the slightly narrower Q targets are a little harder to hit with the narrower site radius. However, with only my second time shooting I qualed just over 96%. I usually shoot anywhere from 95% to 100% with my 220. I do have a lot more trigger time on the 220. As for the trigger on the 250, I think it probably helped with the tighter groups that I got while shooting bullseye targets which were not part of the qual.

I really like the P250 but I don't think I can get one in NJ because of the 16rd mag (we have a 15rd limit). Anyone know if they are going to release a lower capacity 9mm option? I assume the 357/.40 will most likely be 13rd?

This is interesting. I just read this on another forum:
"...suspect that the capacity numbers include the one in the chamber as the P250c I purchased came with one 15 round magazine" Can anyone confirm this? If so this is great news (for me)! |

They are marketed as 16 round mags, though they are marked to 15. I can fit 16 rounds in all 5 of my 250 mags, though it is a tight fit. ------------------------ Are you now, or have you ever been, a liberal? |

The three magazines I ordered from the Sig Store say they are 16 round magazines. The one magazine that came with the gun is marked "15" and will ONLY accept 15 rounds and the 15th went in stiff. I should get the other ones soon and am curious as to how many they will hold. I also notice Sig is marketing 18 round 226 magazines. All of my "factory" Sig 226 magazines hold fifteen. Anyone used any of these new 226 magazines?

The last witness hole on 250 mags is marked 15. Mine will accept 16, but I had to put ~500 rounds through it before I could squeeze the 16th round in it.
They are 16 round mags, but it's a tight fit. |
