Thanks dcowboyscr. I'll take a look at the subcompact Glocks as you suggest.

Best to you.

Utahguy... another recommendation to look at the Glock 19 or 23 (exact same size)... I can conceal these very easily and capacity is best-in-class. So is reliability. But another option (my current favorite!) is the Glock 30. These are chunky in the grip, but for med-large, to large and/or longish fingers/hands they fit well. After a lot of "in-hand" time, I've come to find that I really like the full, beefy feel of the G30 in the hand... and I think that the famous "soft shooting" this model offers is due, in part, to the way the grip fills the hand fully all around. 11 rounds of hot .45 acp in a stone reliable, compact size. I really LOVE my Glock 30!

Is $425 MSRP or what you think they'd actually sell for?

The dealer I buy from typically charges 82% of SIG's listed MSRP for all the SIG stuff he sells. The P250 lists at $699, and I got both of mine for $560. Same thing with mags and same deal with other SIG pistols and parts.

So by that, slide kits would sell for ~$350, which sort of makes sense because slides and barrels are the most complex parts of these things to manufacturer.

The big thing we have yet to know is if caliber changes are going to be barrel drop in affairs - i.e. can I take my 9mm, Compact size slide, drop in a .40 barrel and mags and have a .40 Compact?

It might be possible with an extractor change.

Wow $350 sounds very reasonable to me if that happens to be what they end up selling for. I've been wondering the exact same thing regarding the interchangability of the slides between 9mm and .40/.357 sig.

SigrobGA,
Which range do you use?

I haven't seen any of these P250's on the North Side of ATL.

Autrey's Amory down in Fayetteville. I bought the one you see above and another guy bought the other Nitron they had. There are 2 left, both two-tone at $649. Good folks there and the range is excellent. The owner works hard to get what his customers' want and when I asked about the 250 a few months ago, he went ahead and got them in as fast as he could. I have not seen anyone else in the metro Atlanta area with them.

I would take a good look at the new Walther PPS in 9mm. My impression (after checking it out at the local gunshop) was that at just an 1" thick with reasonable dimensions for length and grip, it should be highly concealable, even with a suit.

Hello everyone and a very Happy Christmas to you all.

I own a P229 in .40 and absolutely love it. I'm fairly new to guns but I have a concealed permit and am now looking for a smaller gun that I can carry concealed when wearing a suit. I like semi auto's ands would prefer a semi before a J frame, for example.

I was thinking about the new P250 in Compact 9mm as it will also allow me to buy (in the future) a .45 rig to go with the 9mm and maybe even a full size rig to go with the .45. Basically, I like the idea of having all these options. I like the idea of having a 9mm for the additional purpose of economically priced practice!

If the P250 doesn't work for me, do any of you have other suggestions as to what I can buy to take care of my concealed needs when wearing a suit? Apologies if there's another thread on this subject and if so, could someone please point me to it. I have to say that I love and trust my P229 so, I'm very keen to explore Sigs before any other brands but, I'm not glued to the hip with Sig if there's(if you'll excuse the pun!).

Please be safe everyone!

Meh... Now if they dropped the price 100 bucks, gave it a normal hammer and made it DA/SA, then my Glock 19 would probably be toast. Until then, my Sigpro 2022 rules the roost.

Drop the price $100? They come standard with night sights. They are comparable to a Glock with NS pricewise. What do you want a Taurus price with Sig quality?

Good point, I didnt realize they came with night sights. However, so did my 2022 and it was only $529.

They can keep their night sights and add a DA/SA trigger. Then Ill gladly turn in my G19. Smile

Yes. I agree with the price comments. I had an opportunity to play with one (field strip it) and shoot one at a local range and shop.

My impressions were...
1. This thing should be about 400 bucks MAX. After stripping it, the gun boils down to a small frame and a few springs. How much R&D can possibly go into that. All the money is in the slide...

2. Night sights. MOST people have NO REASON to have night sights. I say MOST people. Some want them for home protection. Others need them for personal security. etc. etc. But at least offer them as an option.

3. Should have offered it in single stack. There's no reason they can't. In fact, it would shave quite a bit of weight off and make it a viable option for CC. As it stands today, it's just a bit to large for most. Fully loaded, it's like carrying around a small hammer all day.

Shooting wise, I liked it. I could put hole in paper and it did what Sig said it would. If this guns were $399 - $450 Glock would be freaking out right about now...

MSRP for the Nitron P250 is $699, 2022 $613 both with night sights. Am I the only one that remembers when Sig lowered the price of the Sigpro because of the huge contract with the French National Police?

Even so my P250 was $570 out the door and I'd expect when they aren't so new to the market like they are now the prices will settle down even further knowing how newly released guns are usually inflated pricewise by gunshops.

Maybe when their potential is fully released we will have a model without night sights, a single stack, etc etc.

As for R&D I'm sure it cost a heck of alot of money to make a Modular pistol that's durable and reliable while having a smooth as silk trigger. Not to mention the challenges of caliber interchangeability all while keeping the outside dementions of the pistol the same so the same holsers could be used for the whole P250 series.

Think about just the caliber change problems. That in and of itself would be daunting. If this system proves to be both durable and reliable in all its offered calibers I will be most impressed. I have confidence Sig can and will pull it off.

It's funny when there are problems with a model Sig releases some bitch about quality control and not enough R&D. This time it seems Sig has gone even above and beyond their high standards to ensure this new generation of Sig pistol weapons system is done right and I for one don't mind paying a little extra for the inovation/extra thorough RD.

When is the sub-compact going to become available? I guess I will wait on it, instead of going with a Glock 26.

No doubt SIG is trying to recoup significant R&D dollars, however the P250 has got to be one of the most inexpensive pistols to manufacture. If not THE most inexpensive pistol they have ever manufactured.

I will say that the lack of any LE/gov't contracts for the P250 makes pricing all the worse for the civilian consumer, whether it makes sense or not.

I still think the P250 is a relatively good value in a pistol, it just missed the mark enough from what I was expecting that I will pass on purchasing one for now.

I just started to look at the P250. Is the compact model the only one they've released so far? I may be interested in the full size model in 9 mm to compete in USPSA Production Class.

Does anyone know when Sig plans on releasing calibers other than 9mm. This weapon sounds like it is going to revolutionize the LE service pistol and I can't find it in .40 S&W anywhere.

The .40s are not out yet. The only 2 configurations SIG has released are the 9mm Compacts with medium circumference grips in Nitron and Two Tone.

No other calibers, caliber kits or grip sizes.
