Thanks Mr. Erhardt. I appreciate the official information.

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr, 1785.

Sounds like this was designed in line with new military contracts. Not sure about the compact size, but the interchangeable grips are a big factor in the replacement for the Beretta.

Hey, give me a break, it was worth a shot..... Smile
Great minds think alike. I'd give Wally's right one to field test and write a range report on it.

From what I've read - with is of course is sketchy - I'm interested in the P250 as my first poly gun.

BTW - Thanks for the information Paul.

Amazing that you not only give us some official info on the 250, but you also offer up a test shoot. I think you guys are doing a great job up there in NH.

Thanks for the info.

Anyone else find it curious that there was no height dimension listed? Typo?

I wasn't that excited about the 250 initially, but a .45 version has created a little stir in my belly. Can't wait to see what the capacity on that will be. What do you guys think, could it really be a double stack .45?

Very nice gesture. Gotta say I never heard this being done by other gun manufacturers. I hope it's a hit. Wink

There are several changes to the pistol from the original German design and in preparing the .40/.357 versions we ended up having to make chages to the 9mm. This is most evident in the slide dimensions. We wanted the 9mm to have the same slide profile as the .40S&W/.357SIG version so that they'd use the same holster. Because our market is driven more by .40S&W (particularly in law enforcement) we made the changes. In Europe the caliber of choice is 9mm.

Damn it, I hate when an origional design gets changed.

While I understand your need to make the changes (LE Market and the US's attraction to the 40), I am always worried about a product when it is changed from the origional design.

Plus I'm a 9mm guy, the 40 is a solutition looking for a problem. Wink (Flame Suit on Big Grin)

It is good to know that the 250 will be released here though. Looking foward to the range report.

Thank you for the information, we all really appreciate the consideration you show to Sig fans, LE and Military personnel!!

Wish I could attend but the Navy has other plans for me.

I would like to test fire the pistol also if you have room. I have shot with Geeten (point blank Frank) in the past. I hope that doesn't disqualify me.

Mr. Erhardt,

thank you for the information provided.

Caliber - 9mm
Trigger Pull - 5.5 - 6.0 lbs
Trigger Reach - Std. 2.80". Min. 2.55" Max. 2.90"
Trigger Circumference Range - Min. 6.7" Max. 7.1"
Overall Length - 7.2"
Overall Height - 5.1"
Overall Width - 1.3" (Md.), 1.4" (Lg), 1.3" (Sm)
Barrell Length - 3.9"
Sight Radius - 5.8"

Weight w/ Empty Mag - 24oz
Magazine Capacity - 15 Rounds
Grips - Interchangeable Polymer
Grips Circumference - Sm. 5.4", Md. 5.7", Lg. 6.2"

May I suggest you include this expanded data (i.e. the grip circumference, trigger circumference, trigger reach, etc) for all the models on your website ?
Perhaps SIG could provide an archive section with expanded data for the older pistols ?
(P225, 228, 2009, etc)

Thanks !

Well, guess I'll have to wait and see. If the 250 is a DAO pistol at 7.2" OAL & a trigger pull of 6#, in 9mm only; then I guess it will take a back seat to my Para Ordinance Carry Model. Not to say that I don't love my P220Carry, P239 & P245.I live in Nevada where you can get a CCW for two pistols. Each additional pistol listed on your permit costs $15. Well, we all know how stupid politicians can be! I suppose, after qualifying with a 45ACP and passing the FBI check, that I would be a dastardly criminal if I were caught carrying a 22 or a 380.At any rate, in Nevada you want to carry the one most comfortable with the most uumph that you can muster. So, while I love my Sigs and shoot them a lot, I guess I have to carry the Para Carry model
