September was the date first announced, but all the dealers in my area say november is more likely.

The waiting game is frustrating to say the least. A call to Sig resulted in "October", and a call to local dealer who is the "largest Sig dealer" in the area, states he was told it won't be out till Shot Show. What happend to the chosen bunch to shoot the thing and report back?

Assuming these reports of December - February are accurate, someone must have slept through the "underpromise, overdeliver" lecture in their marketing class. Wink

Perhaps it was a "Not-for-Profit" public sector class.

Oh wait... it's so confusing. Customers, consequences, accountability, and considerations are pesky issues.

I read some frustrated comments on the long wait for the P250 with dismay.

I suspect SIGARMS has had some unexpected challenges to overcome in bringing the P250 to market, but I don't know for sure as I've been out of the loop a bit lately. I will say the versions I shot in June looked good, and I'm also surprised to see further delays.

Blaming the marketing department is a bit unfair and misguided, however. I have no doubt SIGARMS really believed they had the P250 in the bag when they announced it. Everything hinges on engineering and production working together to iron out the bugs, and that can be a very difficult process. Anyone who actually makes anything should know this and have some sympathy for their good efforts. It'll be worth the wait. I advise patience.

I would agree wholeheartedly...but there has been no follow-up in this thread - one they started - for how long, with July now long gone? That, they can be blamed for...

If you're gonna stir the pot - you're expected to dish out the goods at some point...

My understanding was that Paul Erhardt was to be our host at SIG to try out the P250 and report back to this forum.

Now that he is no longer with SIG it is doubtful this visit to the factory will happen.

As one of the members who was selected to participate on the range report team, I'm very disappointed. Not upset, just disappointed.

I still thank Paul for his effort and wish him well.

Better to WAIT and get it right from the get go instead of having glitches being spread all over the 'net upon release.

Yeh because it is so much cheaper and easier to just keep making variations of the same models. Oh, here is the 226R, ok and now the 226navy, oh lets not forget the 226tactical, but that isnt all lets throw a beavertail on it and it is now a 226 elite instead of a 226 blackwater. Everyone else has a 5 inch version so lets do one, ok everyone elses 5 inch is the same price but we are sig, we are super special, lets make it $800 more than the regular. While we are at it lets throw our quality control to hell and lose half our LE contracts.

It is much better for it 'To Be Done Right' than 'To Be Done Right Now'.

The waiting the extra 3 months for them to release it done right is much better than three months of Internet 'experts' and/or Brand 'X' fan boys dogging a faulty release.

I want a .40S&W for my line up and had looked at the XD & G22. Also needed a mate for the 9mm P226. But this has put all that on hold until I can put one of these in my hand to see how it fits. Cool

Tis true. Would have thought they would have almost had it worked out before all of the marketing hype started. Looking at some recent QC issues on their new stuff I have read about (internet doesnt always mean it is true) and several large agencies dropping them, they probably figure they better get this one right the first time.

P226R - 9mm
Glock 20 - 10mm Auto
Desert Eagle - 44 Magnum
If you haven't solved your problem with fifteen rounds, a pistol was an inappropriate choice for the scenario!

That's too bad, but perhaps you can hope it will ultimately be offered in a longer-slide version for not only you and places like Canada, but for others who prefer a longer sight radius. As a modular gun, that shouldn't be too hard.
