Why? They cast the same shadow, take the same magazines. While they are not the same internally you literally can't tell the difference shooting them.

You are neglecting the "folded slide" mystique. While I do not ascribe to it, many SIG fans will choose the older style by default, simply because.

Get the SAS model if the price is right.

P220 compact, because they've always intrigued me, and the trigger reach is too short on the P239 for me.

220 Compact, unless of course you can find a nice used 245, which is what I have and love it.

Of the two, I would go with the P239 SAS; however, the P229 SAS is also a discontinued model, and a solid second choice for me.

P239 gets my vote as well. It really is a great shooter. It may be big and heavy for its capacity by 2018 standards; but none of that detracts from the fact that it really is a quality piece.

This for the win.
With the Hogue grips the gun is an extension of my psyche..I shoot it better than my 226.

239 in 357sig. You can then shoot 357, 40sw, and 9mm out of it with factory Sig barrels.

Found a NIB P220 Compact for a price I am happy with. Will arrive @ my ffl by the weekend, hopefully. Still on the hunt for a nice .357 sig P239 as well. Might as well finish off my tax refund.
Now to find a deal on G10 grips (wish I woulda bought some when sig was blowing them ou th for $20).

A Perpetual Disappointment...

Definitely a P239 .40 caliber (then obtain 357 Sig
and 9mm bbl's) and your bases are well covered!

+1

I’d get the p239 in .40 if at all possible. .357 barrels are easier to find than .40 barrels and .40 mags work with .357 but .357 mags don’t work with .40.

I love the P239. One of the best triggers Sig puts on their pistols, plus I prefer single stack. That was until Sig invented and patented the stagger stack in the P365.

Get the P239 in .40, cause they're cheap.
Then get a 9mm and 357 barrel and a few mags.
