I know SIG made some 226ST's in 357SIG, but are they a rare bird? I never see them listed for sale here on SIGforum, and once in a while I'll even do a search on the auction sites and never get a hit. I wouldn't mind having one, but right now I'd have to trade or sell something if one were to become available.

Here's one to look at. (Converted to DAK by Grayguns.)

That is a great gun. Did Grayguns bob the hammer for you as well? I like that look.

Here is one we sold some time ago to a local LEO:

This is the one that got my attention regarding the all stainless P226, especially in .357SIG. Cool

It has the standard DAK hammer.

I bought my 357SIG P226ST NIB a couple of years ago from a dealer here in the Classifieds. You could always buy one chambered in 40 S&W and buy a conversion barrel for it. I see ones chambered in 40 S&W for sale on various forums every so often.

Gents,

I have a LE counterpart that has two of the P226 ST's in .357 Sig. He ordered them directly from the factory a number of years ago. At the time he was a head trainer for DHS/ICE and new the factory reps well.

I'd consider the ST and the .357 Sig round a match made in heaven. He does.

I don't know that the actual STs are rare, and I can tell you ST Elites are currently available. They're definitely outstanding pistols, though.

I contacted TGS and they said the 226ST in 357 is not currently available. The one you probably saw was an Elite.

It took some time before I found mine. I wouldn't call them rare, but the original factory P226ST in 357SIG is getting hard to find. One reason is I believe people love them and don't want to give them up.

Sadly, I don't have any good pics of mine right now.

Oh, if you really want one be ready to buy without hesitation (have cash in hand ahead of time).

As in my case, you may find a few out there that do not have the 'ST' markings.

I bought mine in .40S&W and added the 357SIG Barrel. I absolutely love taking it to the range, and it's my go to gun at home. And even though mine is fairly new (Feb 09 on the sticker on the box) the fit and finish are outstanding.

They are certainly on the heavy side, but they shoot like a dream. Due to cost of ammo, I don't shoot mine a whole lot, but it's one of those "special" guns I just love having.

I don't have a 226 in .357 Sig but I have a 229ST with a .357 Sig barrel. A very nice shooting gun. I think if you go with the 226ST you won't have any regrets.

Take a look at this thread, the guy has a P226ST .357 that looks really sharp with a set of the black aluminum Sig grips!

The P226ST in .357 SIG is one of my favorites. I'll never sell mine. Shooting 9mm in a Bar-Sto conversion barrel is nice too. Very good range pistol.

Not to drift off topic but what kind of base pad is on your mag? Would you by chance have a link to where I could get some to replace the steel ones on my 226R?

The photo is several years old. That is a factory 10 round .40/.357 magazine. Since I never use the gun for carry, I didn't see any point in buying higher capacity magazines.

Perhaps something here will work on your mags:

Mec-Gar has 13 and 15 round hi-caps with plastic base plates:
