Just picked up a p220 elite sao... the factory rosewood grips are nice, but I'd like to find some normal grips that fit. Anyone have any ideas on where to look? Also, will the regular p220 grips fit, or is there a special cut for the sao?

thanks!

I think there's a special cut for the safety. A search isn't turning up anything for grips though. But they've got to make them them; As the 220 Match has them. Houge doesn't offer anything though. Try calling Sig...

I actually wanted some walnut grips for my P220 SAO beavertail. Emailed Sig and got the following response:

"We don't sell any walnut grips that will fit the P220 SAO"

So much for that... really helpful response. Roll Eyes

Regular P220 grips will not fit because of the decocking lever on the DA/SA and the rear safety on the SAO. However Sig does make black plastic grips for the P220 Carry SAO because that's what mine came with.

I am in the same boat.

I have a 220 SAO Carry w/ beaver Tail. I'll pay the money, I just want Hogue to come out with their Extreme Metal Grips for my gun. I don't care how much it cost. I just want replacement grips for my gun that won't crack.

My boss at the gun store has a early 220 (euro mag release 38 Super) that the origional grips cracked on and he can't get the origional factory grips for it. In 20 years, I don't want to be in the same position!3

I'm already buying the ones for my 226's as I can. Having them for my X5 Tactical would be great too!

Kevin,
as far as I was able to figure out Nils was the only company that made them.

I emailed sig directly per Aaronp220r's suggestion. They replied within a hour and gave me a number to call to order a pair. I'll place an order today.

thanks!

ps. there shouldn't be a problem with the grips fitting an elite sao right (cut slightly different due to beavertail)?

I called sig and they do indeed have them in stock at the nice price of $20. Problem is they want $15 in shipping... so I declined and will go the internet boards to find some.

I think you are SOL except for Nills, at least that was the case for SAO on my Super Match and X5 Tac.
