There are cheaper plinking targets available. Empty pop cans, plastic water bottles, etc. No need to give money to ProMag for that purpose.

I've had a couple of ProMag magazines over the years, both times included with the particular gun that I bought. I'd heard and read all of the horror stories about them and as a result didn't expect them to be reliable. And pretty much true to form they didn't disappoint. Conversely I have knowingly bought a few gunsmithing tools from them and those pieces have worked and held up out fine.
