So...about a month ago, I registered on here to ask for buying advice about a P226.
Now I own one. West German manufacture (which I prefer to the milled slide versions I've fired), Hogue grips, CCR finish on slide. Thanks very much to one of this forum's members for selling me his. |

Yes, congratulations on acquiring one of the finest firearms you can buy. I agree about the old stamped slide West German P226s - there's just something about them, the feel, the heft, the distribution of weight. I love my NSW Navy too and have such a hard time deciding which to carry. I regularly rotate between the two. My next gun will be a West German P226 in factory nickel. There was a NIB one here a couple weeks back but it was up out of my price range. It went quickly. They show up occasionally though - I'll snag one eventually! Then I'll have to rotate between the three!

Great choice and a great pistol. I own 2 as one is a 9mm West German and the other is a milled slide no rail 40 SW.

Sure thing. This is the picture I posted to my IMFDB profile: I need to take better ones, I guess. But for now, that's the only one I've taken. |

Good luck...aren't they pretty rare? I remember hearing they were made only for a short time between the late 80s and early 90s, when SIG switched to the two-tone model. |
