So...about a month ago, I registered on here to ask for buying advice about a P226.

Now I own one. West German manufacture (which I prefer to the milled slide versions I've fired), Hogue grips, CCR finish on slide. Thanks very much to one of this forum's members for selling me his.

Yes, congratulations on acquiring one of the finest firearms you can buy. I agree about the old stamped slide West German P226s - there's just something about them, the feel, the heft, the distribution of weight. I love my NSW Navy too and have such a hard time deciding which to carry. I regularly rotate between the two. My next gun will be a West German P226 in factory nickel. There was a NIB one here a couple weeks back but it was up out of my price range. It went quickly. They show up occasionally though - I'll snag one eventually! Then I'll have to rotate between the three!

Post pictures!

Great choice and a great pistol. I own 2 as one is a 9mm West German and the other is a milled slide no rail 40 SW.

Sure thing. This is the picture I posted to my IMFDB profile:

I need to take better ones, I guess. But for now, that's the only one I've taken.

Good luck...aren't they pretty rare? I remember hearing they were made only for a short time between the late 80s and early 90s, when SIG switched to the two-tone model.
