Judging by the condition of the breach in the picture above, the gun looks pretty new. Other tell-tale signs of whether your Sig has seen a lot of use are:

1) Scratches/wear in the mag-well area
2) Scratches/wear on frame rails (although it's harder to tell with a stainless frame gun)
3) "Smilies" on the barrel
4) Wear on the barrel feed ramp (when the gun is new, the feed ramp is black).

That extractor wear does not look normal. Perhaps the previous owner shot steel-cased rounds - this would bugger up the extractor much faster than normal brass.

P.S. You said that the gun was heavily oiled. I don't mean to sound patronizing, but make sure you don't have any oil in the chamber or barrel when you shoot your guns. This could lead to catastrophic failure. Also, make sure there is no excess oil in the mag well or the magazine itself. You don't want the ammunition to get oily.

1. The mag area looks very clean
2. Looks to be minimal wear on the rails
3. Very mild. There is a bit more now as I had put about 500 rounds myself through.
4.Feed ramp is still black.

As for the oil...it is dry! I claned it very throughly using a lot of patches and Q-tips. When I replace the extractor (on order from Top Gun today) it will be very clean.

Based upon the other conditions of the gun and the condition of the extractor, it is quite possible that the previous owner was going for 15+1 by loading a round in the chamber, releasing the slide and then inserting the magazine. As opposed to stripping off the first round and then subsequently topping off the magazine.

Good point.
