I now want to start using my 220/45 instead of my 229/40 for Stock Class in Steel Plate Competition. I also use a S&W 686 for PPC Matches shooting scores of 586 to 592 on a 600 course.
If anyone else out there would want to install a Red Dot on their Sig, Use the Docters Dovetail Mount(56003)over the Burris Mount do to being a beefier mount. I had problems with the Burris Dovetail Mounts coming loose and falling off during competition. I went through three Burris mounts and than switched to the Docters Mount, Burris was kind enough to replace the bad mounts, no questions asked.
You can find these products at OpticsPlanet.com
In PPC Competition I'm rated as Expert, in Bullseye I'm rated as Marksman.
In both ratings I'm border line of moving into the next higher class.

Keep up the good shooting, and thank you for the excellent info and advice on mounts. I haven't seen your message yet, so please send a note with contact info to bruce@grayguns.com.

Folks, I've been going through a third round of emails from interested SIG competitors, and I am deeply appreciative for your great response.

We're working on a program and y'all will be the first to know all the details. Thanks and take a friend to a match..with a SIG, of course.
Wink

I will say this thread got me excited enough that I added a P226 SCT for fun times. So I'll blame Bruce for now.

With that being said, I'm looking to run it through PPC duty Gun in lieu of my G22 and see what it can do across the course in PPC 1500 SA.

patience is a vice ... when can you tell us what's coming ?

Yes, I sometimes shoot an IDPA with my carry gun and carry ammo. You have to do this some time to see the reaction you get to full power factory ammo going off in your "street gun". 165 gr. GDHP's are loud and they do kick. But it's great practice and preps you like nothing else I know of for the worst case of having to pull the gun in day to day life.

I also have a few ammo cans of factory duplication handloads that are my IPSC "major power" ammo for the same gun, though I'm less interested these days in shooting IPSC for practice, not a criticism, just a personal preference. Shooting your carry gun in competition is always a good thing to do. Practicing with it at all is a good thing to do. I only wish I had more time to do either anymore.

Be well. God bless.
