Let's stress the "yet to be revealed" part for now, but thank you Tom! More importantly, we'll all want to thank the folks at SIG Sauer who are doing some really, really cool things these days. Trust me. You'll see.

Not program, PROGRAMME!

That means it's special.

No, actually it just means that I had the benefit of a classical education in which most of what I read before I was seven years old was in the Queen's English. From Churchill to Huxley to Gibbons, I'd read them all before second grade, and again in military school. I'm so heavily imprinted with the proper English spellings of various words that when I get tired, carelees or don't have a spell-checker, I tend to revert to "colour" and "programme." I'm told that my writing is similarly stilted in colloquial English mannerisms and structure in a way that my speech is not. Strange. Just another one of my prententiously charming eccentricities. So you guys know, I've just finished lightening a P226ST enough to shoot in IDPA SSP Division. Any body interested?????

Ok, I gotta ask,
The IDPA rules have an inclusive listing of permitted modification and an non-inclusive list of prohibited modifications?

It would seem that you would have to lighten the frame or slide. Lightning the slide is a listed prohibited modification. Lightning the frame is not on the inclusive list.

So how does this work?

Damn Bruce! That's enough to get me to get my 226 again and go for the games. I know one fellow I shoot with does a mighty fine job with his 229 at the duty gun portion of our local PPC matches.

Forgot to mention that I'll pump the sales rep next week to see if he will spill any beans. After a few beers at the hotel bar, anything is possible. Big Grin

I really wanted to compete with my Sig, the motivation was there. I just can't shoot them as well as my Glock or 1911 : /

Still my number 1 for carry though.

On a totally unrelated note, any Grayguns classes coming within 50 miles of Las Vegas in the near future?

It will then make the weight limit but doesn't the custom work void its use in SSP. It certainly isn't a stock service pistol.

Me, too! I will be using a P228 for the foreseeable future. Joined USPSA and haver one classifier in the bag. Looks like it could be a C- year, if all goes well. Email on the way this evening.
Best,
Will M.

Missed an interesting Classifier Sunday Will.
Bud's going to run the same COF next month with a different Classifier.
Watch out buddy, I've got the "tune-up" under my belt Wink Big Grin

Scotty, If I send you my 226ST, can you have it ready by Winter/Spring?

Long-winded email sent Bruce.

Well that's the thing, as I read the rules, the gun cannot have any outside modifications which means that it has to look bone stock on the outside, which it does.

The thing I still have to figure out is what do they consider a "Competitive Advantage". Does making a gun light enough to be shot in that sport at all constitute a "Competitive Advantage"??

I'm working on getting the weight out of the frame and associated parts only, we'll see what I can do.
