Researching this a bit more, I found that the G42/43 has a 6.1mm stock rear sight, where as the G17 et al has a 6.5mm rear sight. The .4mm difference translates to a .0157", which is less than the .035" difference between standard Trijicons and the G42/43 sights.

Whatever the reason for this, I'm just glad that a solution was available and that my pistol is shooting to point of aim.
