Ive seen people use straight up Crisco, and some use a blend of beeswax, lanolin, vasoline, ect.

Does it really matter much?

I had a Ruger Old Army for quite a while. The noise, smoke and blast were fun! I regret selling that monster. I fooled around with lots of lube and even tried to mix my own. Messy. And on a hot day, really messy.
I went with Ox Yoke Wonder Wads. More expensive
but less mess and hassle. I ended up using grease for range use and the Wonder Wads if I was packing the gun around.
