I do love the HP. This one is a now discontinued Charles Daly with Novak sights,Spegal grips and internals by Cylinder and Slide. C&S thumb safety also. They point very naturally and shoot like a dream. The trigger needs some work on most but once that is taken care of they are hard to beat. I did a review of one on my blog: http://gunner777.wordpress.com/2008/05/09/daly-hi-power-completed-upgrades/ http://gunner777.wordpress.com/2007/09/30/the-charles-d...e-browning-hi-power/ http://gunner777.wordpress.com NRA Certified Police Firearms Instructor Proud Father of an Army Airborne Trooper |

A BHP uses a 20-22# recoil spring for 40 cal, 17 or 18.5# for 9mm. Now the hammer spring is 32#. These can be very hard, normally works better with 2 persons to get started. Alot of BHP owners replace this will a 26# to help lighten the trigger. Here is a tool for the recoil spring. http://www.cylinder-slide.com/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=49 David P229R 9mm, Nitron, Beavertail Frame, Night Sights, DA/SA, SRT & Short Reach Trigger |

Sorry for the mix up on the springs. That is the plastic tool I "tried" to use but still couldn't get it.

The trick on the 40 is to put the spring into the barrel first and then push them both together into the slide at the same time. Agreed, that it is easy to bend/kink the spring otherwise. Wolff's replacement spring is also a little less like a slinky. ----------------------------- NRA Certified Instructor There ain't no replacement for shot placement! |

John Browning knew how to design a auto pistol. Both the 1911 and BHP are still relevant today. And quite nice looking in my bood. What's not to like?

Nice looking T-series NavyGuy, and a really a unique serial number. I thought the T-series only went up to T26xxxx before flipping to the C-series, but yours starts with T2999. Any story behind it or are you just an expert at PhotoShop? _________ "Wow... that's, uh... loud." |

C'mon, it's a 9MM - there is no "flip". Learn how to grip a handgun before you criticize a particular weapon. Choose wisely, practice 'til you're proficient and pray that you never need it! |

No expert in PS, I just blocked out the last two digits of the sn... That was my Dad's gun. I think he bought it in the early 60's, and I he took it on a few deer hunting tirps as a camp gun, and put about 50 rounds through it. I got it when he passed on last Jaunuary. |

Don't believe everything you read. I have a T Series with a serial number in the 280000 range, and it's a Browning Arms import. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that the information that has been widely accepted over the years about T Series pistols is somewhat faulty. |

Maybe another conclusion might be drawn, meaning that the information may be faulty... but that's just splitting hairs! I guess I brought it up because my hi-power splits hairs too... ________________________ 1929... |

It is my favorite .40S&W pistol. The recoil spring is strong, but nothing that can't be dealt with. Here is a .40 Practical and leather: John Northern CA "Life brings both sorrows and joys alike, it is what a man does with them- not what they do to him- that is the true measure of his mettle." T. I like the P-35,good balance, feel plus real slim for carry,i had the FEG PJK-9HP,an exact copy of the Hi Power and SARCO carries the short slide that will fit on it for like $200.00 or less..plus the parts for the P-35 and the FEG interchange(not the P9R version). The FEG was great!!..no malfunctions even after 1500 rounds till i sold it

That's for sure. I think that information regarding the T series cutting off at 268000 comes from Stephan Camp's web site. But that is simply incorrect. Mine is surely above that number, as is Para's. And you see them for sale quite often with higher than 268000 S/N. Here's one Linky |

Nothing at all wrong with an FEG. In fact Daly imported FEG's and had Magnum Research build them and make them nice and smooth as well as clean some rough edges up. Dan Wesson made the first ones then CZ bought DW and Magnum Research took over. To bad the Daly is gone as is the FEG from what I understand. There are stil lots of them out there though. Great project gun.

In a moment of sheer stupidity I sold a NIB MkIII HiPower that I now miss. I'm looking for one now. With any luck I'll track one down before year's end.
