Took the mosquito out today and was shooting 3 ltr bottles and gallon milk jugs at about 50 yards. Not easy but lots of fun.

Do you think the trigger work helped your shooting at those distances? I just thought I would ask.

I am sure it didn't hurt. I was feeling like an Elmer Keith Flashback but 22cals shy of his 44 and ballistic missile like shooting. By the way Deet didn't do much to scare away the pesky little biting flys. I hate those bugs.

I have never found anything to keep those biting flies away from me either. I like going to the indoor range so bugs aren't a problem and the same for the wind, rain etc. Out door shooting is fun but there are advantages to indoors as well.

I often go to the LEO Academy range to shoot. It is a beautiful indoor range but also kind of steril and boring at times. I do love the automatic target facing and known distances for combat draw practice. I do decent but age takes its toll. I am looking forward to jackrabbit hunting with my mosquito.

i end up doing the same thing at the range almost every time i go. share your sport right. keep shooting.

In a couple of weeks or so I will take my Mosquito apart again. This time I will be taking pictures of what goes where. It should help those that want to try doing some work on the trigger. Right now I just want to leave it together so I can compare it to the old one that got polished the hard way of shooting lots of ammo. Doing the polishing isn't hard. Getting the thing back together is about the only part that may try your patience. The pictures will be on this thread when it finally gets done.

Happy shooting one and all.

Dirty magazines are one thing most often over looked when there is a problem on most any pistol. It will depend on what kind of ammo you are using as to how fast they get nasty. Dry lube seems to work the best since it does normally let burned powder collect as fast. If they are dripping in oil you will find the problems come back faster.

I am glad I was of some assistance. Keep shooting. It is a nice way to have fun.

Dave I have more pictures too that I planned to go through and put up if they are good enough. This is one. But if you intend to do I may wait to see yours.

I thought that if a picture were posted of the Mosquito disassembled and a separate picture of each piece as it is put back together it would be useful to those that are reluctant to try to polish up the trigger. I find pictures work very well to explain things. It is a good tool even if you have never tried something like this. I was waiting until I got to shoot mine before taking it apart once again. Doing this after working all day is not always a good idea either. If you have trouble getting a good shot of something maybe I might be able to make a shot that works. There are a couple of people on the RimFireCentral.com site that would like to see photos as well.

I think you are right and I hope you have the opportunity to take some nice ones My biggest problem is not being familiar with photobucket program. I am trying to learn to sort and label the pictures. Maybe you know it better? I just think it will help a lot of people to get them posted from someone.

I haven't sat down and tried to sort stuff on photo bucket yet. The only feature I have used is resizing pictures so they aren't too big to post. I try to keep them at 640 X 480 in order to make them load easier and not make most people use the bar on the screen to see everything. I think there is a way to make different albums so you can sort things this way. I haven't posted so many that I needed different albums yet. I'll have to take a look and see how hard it is to do.

I took a look at Photo Bucket and saw that on the left side of the screen there is a place to add New Albums. Type in the name and click save. Once you have done that click on the album and you are ready to up load the pictures you want to put there. It seems easy enough. You will have to select the album and then do the copy thing to post them on the post you want to make same as before.

Hi, I will see what I can do when I get a bit of time. In the mean while I have to say I love this gun. I got the adapter for the can but so far all I have to go with it is an ar15 flash hider. I see that it give the muzzle heavy feel of a target gun. Tomorrow I will try it out but I am sure it is going to be fun. I shot about 100 rounds of Federal bulk today with no problems at various ranges from very close combat to bunny dumping shots at 50 plus yards. I am getting such a kick out of this thing I fear I am getting addicted to playing with it. I am thinking of a laser to use on jacks at night.

The flash suppressor should give it close to the weight that the Sport model has. That will allow you to get back on target a touch faster I think. It should be interesting to try none the less. Mosquitoes are fun to shoot. There are several things you can do to change thing to keep it interesting. I have tried a cheap laser and it worked well enough. The only thing I didn't care for was lasers was turning it off when not in use. As I said it was the cheapest one I could find. I haven't used it much after the initial times. I might have to see about trying it again. It should be easy to sight in this time. I will just point it to where the scope is and that should do it I hope.

Have fun shooting.

I was wondering aobut your scope setup. Can you hunt with it or is it set up more for targets?

I use the scope for targets. I guess you could hunt with it as well. I would suggest having something to rest the grips on to keep it stable. A 2X scope can be used with a 2 handed grip and kept steady enough to hunt. When you try to use the 3 to 7X area you need something more steady. It makes hitting targets nice but at a price. My main thought was to see what the gun could do if I didn't use combat sights. The results were better than I expected. I should try shooting from a proper rest of some type to see if I can get it better at longer distances. Trying to stay steady on a carpet covered piece of plywood they use for a place to set ammo, guns etc. for each position at the indoor range is not ideal. It is better then a non-supported grip by far. The scope does add some extra weight to the gun as well. I'm sure I could hit some squirrels if they aren't too far away. For hunting I think either a reflex or large diameter red dot scope might be better. Then you can pick up your target quicker. You might not be as accurate but will have a better chance of having something to eat at the end of the day.

I was looking at a small reflex scope that without magnification might be a help. I put one really designed for an air rifle on a .22 rifle and it was very easy to use at a short distant. The only thing is i would need the mount. I am not sure if they sell just the mount. I haven't looked yet. Maybe there are others here who would also liek to share some comments on their Mosquito. I am always open to ideas and comments. I find the Mosquito like all guns has its lovers and haters. I have to admit the only gun i ever reaally just did not like ever was a S&W Sigma and even it was better after my playing around inside of it and polishing it up.
