I check the Remoil spray and it is just about the same thing. Should work well. I measured the trigger pull too. Double action it is now 13.5 lbs and single action is now 5.5 lbs. What a change this has made. Nearly factory specs now.

The scope works for me. It makes up for old eyes. I used some stuff similar to Remoil Spray on the hammer and around that area with the left grip removed and the main spring as well. I did remove the mag latch lever to do this. My trigger pull is now down to 13.5 lbs on double action and single action 5.5 lbs. This was after shooting about 200 rounds through it to see if things got better. After the next outing I will see if it gets better or worse.

Real sharp. Which scope is that? Is that the sport package that Sig sells off their website?

I picked up the scope at a gun show. It is a NCStar 2.5X30E. Yes it is the sport model. Lately I have been playing with the mounts on the scope. I'm trying to see where they work the best at. Now I have the scope a little further back on the gun and the rear ring one notch further forward. Once I find that sweet spot I will stop playing and start shooting more. Playing with the scope lately has reduced my shooting of the Mosquito down to only about 200 rounds per trip to the range. It was closer to 500 before.

Ah, sorry, I meant was it the target package scope that they sell but I can see that its not. Do they sell that mount separately - as it looked like the same mount:

I got the target package from Sig. I have never used the red dot that came with it. I have only seen one place that sold the mount alone and that was a gun shop in New Zealand. Everyone else sells it as a package. I just got it so I could have the mount. Some day I might put the red dot on to see how it works at the indoor range. I have read that it doesn't have a bright enough dot to be used outside.

I have check the trigger pull on the Mosquito after shooting several hundred rounds through it and so far it is staying close to what Sig lists it should be. The Dry Teflon spray seems to have done the job. Someone else mentioned checking on the screw that locks the barrel in place to the gun. I had forgotten that I tightened mine some time ago and applied blue lock tight on the threads to keep it from coming loose. This prevents jamming and make shooting more accurate as well.

My Mosquito is doing well and shooting pleasure continues.

I picked up my Mosquito yesterday and after bringing it home and tearing it apart to figure it out I went to the range. Like a kid with a new toy I was really excited to see how it performed. Put in the first mag, released the slide and an immediate failure to load. As is human nature I was wondering if i had a lemon. After ejecting the cartridge thhe next one seated properly and the gun performed flawlessly after that as I put 300 rounds through it. The 1 thing I noticed is that the sights (green dots) were easier to see than my P250 (white dots). So far this is how I expect this gun to perform.

I tried the Rem Oil spray/teflon spray on the trigger components that you mentioned in another post and it seems to have improved the trigger pull. Thanks for the recomendation! Smile

I have had a aftermarket threaded barrel in my Mosquito almost since I bought the gun brand new. I have periodically checked to make sure the two screws holding the barrel in are tight and also have had very good accuracy with my Skeeter.

I haven't seen green dots on the Mosquito before. I will have to take a closer look next trip to the gun store.

I had to lock tight the barrel screw on the P22 at one time to keep it from coming loose and the barrel nut as well. I naturally did the same thing to the Mosquito and never looked back (screw only). It seems like the little things make the most difference. This may be why some people have many problems with them.

I went to the gun show today. I didn't see a single Mosquito there. I was hoping to find one to go with the one I have. I also was looking to find a P225 and there wasn't any of those either. Well I guess I just have to start looking in the stores for now. I was hoping to see one of the new ones with the green dot sights too.

Mississippi Dave there is a vendor in the classifides section with pretty dern good prices on Mosquitos.

I was reluctant at first to buy a gun online but I eventually gave in and bought 4 pistols from members on Sigforum and have alwasy been happy with my purchases and price I paid. I look here first before I buy a gun now.

I went to visit family this past week. I took the Mosquito and a few other pistols along. The Mosquito worked like a charm. No problems except it was hard loading the magazines as fast as they were being shot. I only have four now. I guess it might be time to get a couple more. The 2 Neos and the P22 were shot a bit as well. For some reason the wheel guns didn't seem to provide as much excitement. It was nice to see all the smiles and not a single jam or problem other the one person forgot to hit the slide release to make one of the guns work. It seems I do need another Mosquito if I plan to go back again. My sister even had some dump truck loads of sand delivered a couple days before I arrived to make sure we had a good back stop. I wonder what she plans to do with the stuff now. Maybe she plans to start shooting pistols on a regular basis. She did well enough to be sure.

I took your advice and found a dealer on the classified section that has Mosquitoes. The price seems to be reasonable and they are even in this state and under 100 miles away to boot. The bad news is I will have to pay the state tax. It may work out for me. I was looking to get one that wasn't the Sport Model since I already have that one. It doesn't hurt to have a spare Mosquito. Now I will also have to get even more magazines. I ordered a 2-7 variable scope for the Mosquito. I will be able to leave one mounted and still be able to practice properly without having to remove the scope to do it. You mentioned that yours fits in your P229 holster. I wonder now if mine will do alright for the range in one of my P226 holsters. I hadn't even thought of that yet.

Mississippi Gal has some good prices on Mosquitoes (standard version) right now. Easy to work with too.

I picked up the standard version tonight and it is ready for the range now. The trigger felt very gritty when it came out of the box. Now I have applied some Moly to the sear and the bar the sear rides against and it is now very smooth. The other Mosquito was a little gritty at first but smoothed out after a few hundred rounds. I wish I had done this to the first one now when I brought it home. Hind sight is a wonderful thing. Saturday I should find out how well it shoots and if it will feed the cheaper ammo straight out of the box after a proper lubrication.

Mississippi Dave, Glad to hear you found another Skeeter! I have been thinking about picking another one up myself. The one I have now is reverse two tone with a chrome threaded barrel. I would like to pick up a plane jane all black skeeter with no bling.

That recomendation you gave about removing the grips and spraying Rem Oil on the internals has really made a noticible difference in the trigger pull. I need to measure it again because it feels a pound or two lighter.

Stickman,

I think it works well too. Even on the new gun. I didn't measure the trigger pull before to see the difference. Now they both feel close to the same. The little creep that was there seems to be gone too. You might want to check Mississippi Gal about the 2 Mosquitoes she still has on hand. She even gave me two extra magazines at dealer's cost with the gun. That was a nice deal. The range will be the real test. I think I will only shoot a few Mini-mags to get it sighted in then start on some of the other cheaper ammo. I want to see if my method of lubrication works even on a Mosquito straight out of the box. Since it is a newer model it might not be a fair test.
