I have approximately 15 extra mags for the various handguns I own. I need some kind of storage system (pouch or whatever) so it is convenient for storing in my safe and transporting to the range.

Anyone have a favorite mag storage pouch?

I have an old Polaroid camera bag. Very innocuous and it holds a bunch of stuff.

I have a couple of outdoor type (The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, etc.) shoulder bags and waist packs that work great for range gear.

I happened upon this mag pouch. It's not one I plan to purchase, but the style seems to have merit.

We both posted the same time. Thanks for your link to Brownells. I didn't have much luck when I searched Brownells earlier.

You may want to consider these......i-shot

I've always gotten great products and service from i-SHOT.

Another I-Shot vote. The owner, Helmie... he hangs out here, and is a super guy.

Those Plano bass fishing worm boxes (clear ones) are flat, latch in two areas, and are good for storing mags (I keep them like that in my safe). Pretty cheap, too.

I guess I'm not much of a stud, but the small rubbermaid containers work for me.

And for pistol magazines, this is the best time of year because the big office supply chains like Staples have their back to school stuff out and you can get plastic pencil cases for .99 cents. I've got dozens of the for mags, parts, and even pencils. They aren't Pelican case durable, but at the price you can replace them every September.

I use gun belts for all my centerfire pistols but I use a fanny pack for my 22s I can carry 10 mags fro my P22 and 10 mags for my Skeeter plus a few hundred rounds for reloads. It also has a couple of beverage socks. I keep a soda in one and the spent/empty mags in the other.

Plano boxes, pencil boxes, rubbermaid containers, fanny packs, I-Shot Pouch .........great variety. I am kind of leaning toward the I-Shot Pouch, as it's quite flat and should fit nicely in a range bag.

I use the i-Shot pouches too. They're made of Cordura, they're not padded, and they come in colors so you can color-code the mags for several different pistols. Highly recommended.

I like the color code idea as well. Maybe black for 9mm and red for .45.

The pouch style would be handy for the times when you may want to grab and go. Right now I store my mags in a box, with other shooting supplies, on a basement shelf. Not too convenient for quick access.

My range bag came with padded pistol pouches that fit into the side pockets of the bag. Velcro closures, 2 small = one large. The small size ones can carry 5-7 mags, or a large semi auto pistol safely. The larger ones can carry 15-20 mags, or an AR-15 upper. 4 small fill out one side of the bag, and 2 large fill out the other side. Big section in the middle for ammo, scopes, and cleaning stuff.

The Calif Comp Works pouches work for me. I have four in multiple colors, but to make them truly idiot proof I use a sophisticated marking device: A Sharpie. Note "G-26" scrawled on the OD pouch.

The hard part is figuring out what to order from the many options at Brownells.
