Well, mine is not a triple and I'm not sure there is any inherent value in the triple. That said, I still think it is one of the most under-rated polymer semi's. They seem very dependable and acurate to me.
Do you need a gun that you can lock in the glove box, console, trunk, spare tire compartment? Maybe one that will be ready in a emergency in a BOB that might see some not so pristine suburban range time? One that if its confiscated, lost or stolen it won't break your heart or break the bank? If so, the 2022 might be a keeper.

Fiancee loves hers (me too) she shoots in in USPSA and steel matches. Thousands and thousands of rounds, zero failures and dead on balls accurate.
YES it's worth keeping if you shoot it. It's worth about $300-$400 if you sell it. Maybe slightly more since German not US.

I bought my SP2022 because it was $350 and my job didn't allow me to carry, so my EDC got left in the car a lot.
But wouldn't you know it, it's a damned fine pistol! I ended up using it in 3-gun. Right now, it's serving nightstand duty as one of the few pistols I have with rails, so it has a light now.

I had a SP2009 years ago and hated it. It felt like a brick in my hands,proprietary rail and I didn't care for the decocking mechanism at all. I swore I would not get another polymer Sig ever again. Well, as fate would have it, my ffl dealer had a dirty used SP2022 two-tone 9mm in his case which had the newer upgrades- newer rail,better grips,etc.. After looking at it and holding it, I bought it. I took it home and cleaned it and it looks as new-inside and out.I am glad I bought it. It is an amazing gun for the money and the newer grips Sig redesigned make all of the difference.

I'd argue that the 2022 is the best out-of-the box CCW pistol SIG makes. It's the right mix of price, size, weight, capacity, options, and has probably the best trigger of any stock gun DA/SA gun on the market.

There are some who regard the “All German” SIG to be the pinnacle of all things SIG. There are others, of quite good reputation, experience and knowledge, who say otherwise, and claim current SIG pistols are every bit as good or better.
If you belong to the first camp, the “All German” SP2022/09/340 is far preferable to a new American one. If you are in the latter camp, it doesn’t matter one iota.
I’m sure there are enough in the first camp who would pay a premium for an All German anything including a SP. Whether it’s worth selling or keeping depends on the camp you’re in. However, I doubt it’ll increase that much in value with time. The SP has always been and will probably continue to be underrated.

Aside from silly sight issues, they just don’t break and you never hear of mechanical issues.
It’s widely known around here that I am a big fan of the SP2022.

I've shot Triple SN and Exeter SIGs. I love them all, but I really want a Lysons Gorner or a Herndon stamped 226, just because it's where I live. Pretty stupid I know, still want one none the less.

Fit and finish imo. For example, on the German frame there is very little if and side-to-side play in the trigger compared to the Exeter-made sigpro. Also, the US made don't have transponder slots .
I own a SP2340 .40 S&W and 2022 in 9mm. I gave my son SP2022’s in the same calibers I own. I traded for two, bought two outright, and have right under $1,000.00 in the four. I've been "aware" of the SP2022 for quite a few years. As this seems to be my "Summer of SIG", I bid on and won a nice 2013-made 9mm two weeks ago on Gunbroker. Last weekend at the gun show, the guys with tables next to mine had a well-priced 2016 edition. I certainly didn't need another one, but I was certain, based on the manufacture date, that the 2016 would be of both superlative and superior quality... so I bought it.
I've got 1200 rounds of handloads and factory ammo to run through the pair before the month ends, and based on dry-fire I'm really looking forward to the actual shooting. Don't know why I waited so long.
(And both of my US-made guns have the frame slots for RFD/RFI chips).
It's the second Sig I own, the first being the 228. I have plastic H&Ks and Glocks but this is the one gun I'd never sell and actually considering getting a second...
