Anyone have BlueBook access to give top two ranges on $?
If this is inappropriate- shut me down. Please.

I am simply looking for the top two price ranges from a bluebook for a P225- not the P225-A1, but a german-made P225 [2001 if that matters].

I have seen very widely divergent prices on gunbroker- from $400 to $1500, for example.

So, I wondered if anyone with access can just list the top two ranges.

Again- if this isn't appropriate, I do apologize.

Thank you

Hmmm... These days I would jump on a good condition P225 between 400 and 500 bucks.
And consider this: Magazines are getting hard to find and some people are scalping them at outrageous prices.
Sorry, I don't have access to BB.

Guess the Blue Book is harder to find.

I had purchased a few P220s based on the value this book gives of $705.

One was a .38 Super and the other was in 7.65mm. Yup. Satisfied. Wink

You may be able to get a more realistic estimate by searching the completed auctions on Gunbroker etc...

According to my copy (37th Edition) of the Blue Book, there are three listing types:
Model P225, Model P225 Classic, and Model P225 Hunter.

No distinction is given for West German-made, German-made, etc.

Model P225, 3.85” bbl., discontinued in 1998: 100%/$595 98%/$525
Model P225 Classic, 3.6” bbl., SRT, Siglites, black G10 grips, New 2016: 100%/$1175 98%/$950
Model P225 Hunter... New 2016.

Hope this helps.

In the 38th Edition the Classic dropped to $875.00 $775.00

It only lists P225 (same as 37th Edition) and P225 Classic.

Thanks!

I thought the 'original' P225 was stopped around 2000, and around 2014/5 the new P225-A1 was introduced.

From the listings, it seems the P225 Classic would be the 'new' P225, which doesn't use the mags of the original P225.

All of this helps- Thank you!

From the dollar values you list- is it $875 for P225 and $775 for P225 Classic?

Sig offered the Classic P225 On-and-Off at least through 2010.

Hmm- You mean the folded slide original, right?

Because Sig's website calls one of the new P225 models the P225 Classic.

So, our use of 'classic' and Sig's use of it seem to create some room for confusion. Like selling a P226 Classic this decade, but not calling the 1980s or 1990s P226 the Classic.

I think it might make it more clear if we used 'folded slide' vs 'one-piece slide' at times- as that way we can avoid confusion.

I know Wikipedia can't make the distinction between the original P225 and the modern P225, even when they try.

That said- it is good to know they may have made folded slide versions more recently.

The very last release of the original (yes, folded slide with the pinned breech block) P225 is in 2009 - 2010. No more after that. The 2009 batch was the plain P225. The 2010 batch was the P225 with the "German Police Pistol" rollmark (I call it GPP) on the slide's left side. Note that the GPP is the real deal P225 and not the P6.

Any new P225 released after 2010 is the P225-A1, which was released in 2016, and which shares nothing in common with the original. Roll Eyes And, SIG muddied the water further by naming the first one the P225-A1 Classic, and the last one the P225-A1 Classic Carry. Roll Eyes There is nothing "classic" about the P225-A1, although it is an excellent SIG, being based on the now defunct P239.

Never seen or heard of this model. Must be a mistake in the Bluebook.
