I'm interested in the FNP9 but I can't find much about it. FN's web site has little info and there doesn't seem to be much written about it elsewhere.
Anyone here own one or have experience with it? Thanks for whatever insight you can provide. |

I've only held one in a gun shop, but it was very comfortable and appeared well made. Seems to be a good value.

Read throught the "FNP Discussion" forum at http://www.fnforum.net/
I have an FNP-45 and it is a superb pistol. No footprints when we go Only where we've been, a faint and fading glow... Bruce Cockburn |

I had one and wish I had not sold it! Very reliable and comfortable to shoot. I currently own a FNP45 and would like to get another FNP9 someday.

I'd also add there is/was one recently (past week or less) in the classifieds here. An FNP-9M I believe with a half dozen mags. The "M" is the now-discontinued model that is the same overall length as the regular FNP-9, but has a slightly shorter barrel and slightly shorter grip (I think the M holds one less round in the mag?).
I remember the add just because it was from someone in VA. No footprints when we go Only where we've been, a faint and fading glow... Bruce Cockburn |

I bought one a couple of weeks ago and it is kind of puzzling. It shoots reliably and I can get pretty good groups with it but the FNP is kind of a claw hammer. It does what it's supposed to but I can't muster any passion for it. It ain't a Hi Power or Sig P210, but it certainly does the job it was designed for. I'll probably keep it.

Held one a few weeks ago. Nice little pistol that was formally known as a browning. Same thing from what I can tell.
The .45 also looks compelling and FN is a neat company with a rich history. A member on here with the username magnum mike has one. Haven't heard from him in a while but I would like an update Magnum if you are reading this. X- WDE |

Had one, sold it. Reminded me of a polymer P228. I'd pick one up if I were you, see what you think. FN makes good stuff, and the FNP series is highly underrated.

When I was researching pistols for a "range gun" several months ago, I could find little but praise for the FN FNP line of pistols. If I was in the market for a carry piece at this time, an FNP would definitely be at the top of my list for consideration.

Excellent gun... Very well made, ZERO problems, very accurate, simple tear-down... my first 'poly' (before the 2022), completely satisfied. 'Big-gun' feel, its older-brother, the FNP-45 is an awesome shoot.
If you like the looks, and the hand-fit works, get one... you won't be disappointed! P229R, P226R, P220, P6s, P225, P228, SP2022 |

I used to have one. Zero problems, fed everything without a hitch, extremely accurate. It felt like a polymer 229. Incredible price point, for what you get.

Actually, to be more precise FNP manufactured a version for Browning called the PRO-9. Very good pistol; accurate, reliable and comfortable to shoot. I purchased this one about 4 years ago, however I understand that Browning has since discontinued them. Barrel Length: 4"Overall Length: 7.87" Weight: 1.56 lbs. Frame/Slide: Black Polymer, Bead Blasted Stainless Steel Front/Rear Sights: Adjustable White Inserts, Dovetail Magazine Capacity: 16 Safety: Amby Decocker/Safety and Internal Firing Pin Safety Trigger: DA/SA Additional Features: Interchangeable Grip Backstraps & Integral Accessory Rail |
