I have the SS 9MM VBob. Definitely a fine pistol. Slide feels like its on ball bearings. Good checkering on the front strap as well. Has me looking for a deal on a Specialist.

Sorry, I should have mentioned I am in search of a steel framed, commander length 1911, chambered for .38 Super.

Did DW ever make that model in .38 Super? Thanks.

Don't know that it was ever a catalog item, but DW is known for custom orders. Contact them and I'm sure they can build whatever you like, maybe with an extra 9mm barrel for cheap shooting.

Really wish Colt wouldn't undercut the trigger guard on their custom 1911s'. Confused

wolfe 21 is exactly right. DW DOES this. I just contacted them again and they said it's possible. Think this is the route to go. Top notch quality and non-MIM parts. Doesn't get any better than that for purists.

Not having to pay MSRP for the special order would be better, but...
