Originally posted by TMSig80: I read the first 5 pages and then skipped to the very last. I am fairly sure this is a repeating question, but when would I have to have the money by? Where do I sign up?
Edited question: Is the performance on this custom Sig going to be as reliable as most Sigs on the market? As in, 1000+ shots no problems? (With assumed maintenance of course)
About half way up this page Bruce said "We will be once the time is right and the next run of barrels and mags are in house. We didn't coordinate our first set of 10mm conversions very well, which added to shop time needlessly. We will only announce the next run and take orders from our wait list once everything is ready, and these will be done one at a time on each customer's 220ST / Elite Stainless, in order. That way, I can assure quality and completeness of the highest order possible."
I hope that answers your questions.

Hi! Thank you guys for giving us an opening to address the status of the 10mm project.
We are taking orders right now for the 25 current slots. As of yesterday, our General Manager John Krumm has filled 10 slots to new clients for delivery starting in early August. Please contact him at the GGI Volcano Base, at 541-468-3840.
I'm grateful to our vendor team for getting everything ready and in hand for us!
Specifically, we have received our updated-design barrels from Bar-Sto.
We also have received another run of excellent 8 and 10-round 10-220 mags designed for GGI by Metalform, more than enough to provide plenty of spares for each pistol. I've set aside 10mm Tacticool mag releases to fit these mags as well.
We have set aside a small run of stainless Integral Mag Well blanks for those who order this sexy and useful option.
Our custom spring maker has told me we will have our new uprated 10-220 recoil springs in hand by July 1st; each new 10-220 (and all of our first run customers) will be supplied with a bundle of spares.
Our new SuperBlack heat-treatment shop is ready to provide crucial metal treatment services on a fast turnaround schedule, which relieves what had been a choke point in our program.
Our SIG action specialist Jim has started primary action work and detailing on the 10 pistols we've received so far. I am building the first 10-220 from the new group next week when I have fully recovered from the flu.
But first, I'll be re-testing the rework on a first-generation 10-220 that exposed a potential feeding issue related to a specific bullet shape. (It seems CCI-Speer has loaded several slightly different ogive profiles and COAL's in their otherwise quite good Blazer aluminum 10mm FMJ-FP offering.) This led me to revamp our locking insert and feedramp profiles, changes which are incorporated in the new barrels from Bar-Sto. If our friend G.M. is reading this, I'll be shipping yours back to you out next week.
But yes, we do fully expect these pistols will be more than acceptably reliable for serious use. After all, that's what they are intended for. Not as monster ultra-powerful alternatives to a .41 Magnum revolver, nor as simply an expensive toy of limited usefulness, but as a reasoned alternative to the .45 ACP P220 for those needing better external ballistics in a high-quality practical pistol.
Thanks for asking!
-Bruce

Good morning gentlemen! I was wading through some posts, but didn't see it mentioned. Are there any plans or is it possible to use a stainless P229 for the 10mm conversion, or am I delusional?
If not, I need to be on the lookout for a P220ST!!

Hi Tom (great name btw!),
I think you need any all steel P220 for the current conversion Bruce is doing.
I think the 5 inch "Elite" models are best, due to the longer barrel and heft. I think either the DA/SA Match Elite or the SAO version would work.
Bruce is building mine from the DA/SA Match Elite.
Or the P220ST if you want a more compact 10mm...

The 229 mag well is not long enough to accommodate the 10MM cartridge.

UPDATE: We have all but two of the second group 10mm conversions back from the laser engraver and being reassembled right now, for shipping next week. We'll be in contact with each of you to verify shipping addresses and so forth. We're very happy with the results and I'll be posting pics. Thank you, folks!

Dear Bruce,
If it helps you could start with the one(s) that didn't go out for engraving!
Just trying to help!

Good point Swordknives, I was thinking Bruce meant pictures of MY pistol when I am sure he meant pictures in general.
Hey, it was fairly late when I posted that, I guess I wasn't thinking straight! Sorry!

I'm sorry, guys! I'll be home Tuesday from Orlando to post pics and send guns out. John is photographing the first group now while I"m out of the shop for a few days. Thomas, I suspect yours is on the way now after some tweaking on my part yesterday to improve the action. I'll find out for you.

Okay, I'll wait here. I bought a bunch of Hornady 180 XTP to do a S&W 1006 / Glock 20 SF / GGI SP220-10 comparison. I've polished the 1006 action a bit, but I think Captain Crunch did the trigger on my Glock!
