I am trading my glock 17 to get a sig 226, its an older german one in 95% shape. So I could put a dak trigger in that still right? Is there any grips made for the dak that don't have that swell near the decocker? If not is there anything that might be in the way keeping me from removing that swell. basically making a mirrored image of the other side, other than the slid stop cut out. Kinda making it "slim grip". I realize i'd have to modify the slide catch so it would not stick out a mile. do you think its possible to make slim grips for it? what would it cost roughly to put in a dak trigger? thanks for the help. oh I really wanted a 228 or a 229 do you think it would be a huge deal to find a trade for one of those?

If it is an older German or West German P226, the frame will most likely will not accomodate the DAK trigger bar. A call to the factory with the serial number will tell you for sure.

i am no expert, but i think only recent p series can be converted to dak. i think if you do a search that should cover that question. if you want to be 100% sure, i would call sig. if you want it converted from sig, you are looking at 200 bucks excluding shipping.

in regards to grips on a dak...yes there are grips made that "mirror" the other side.

topgunsupply.com has sig certified pre-owned p228's and i think even p229's. 229's will be easier to find. check the classifieds on here too.

good luck.

how do the houge aluminum grips compare feel wise to the factory grips? I am mainly looking to make the grip feel more 1911ish the swell were the grip meets the decoker is a buzz kill
