I have had my SIG P250 for about three months and want to report that I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT. However, I have read one or two notes in the SIG Forum about P250 problems and several of my LE friends have mentioned that "we hear that they've been having problems with the SIG P250." None can remember where they heard it (probably from each other).

I've shot a number of different varieties of ammo and probably 500 rounds of my reloads, which are just a bit softer than factory ammo. Not a single FTF or FTE. I did read somewhere on the Forum that there had been "problems" with the guide rod, so I got myself a stainless guide rod, which I would have done anyway, and it also works fine.

Sounds like some of SIG's competitors are conducting a disinformation campaign.

A case of FTF or FTE is, to paraphrase Goldfinger, "happenstance". Two cases are a coincidence. Three such failures is a problem.

Has anyone on the Forum heard any reliable reports on P250 "problems"?

Same here, replaced the stock guide rod with a stainless one from Steve Bedair. Over 1000 rounds without a single problem so far. Love this thing, easy to clean and very accurate.

You should retitle your post "(Lack of) SIG 250 Problems. There are enough posts about problems. I've had a few but i really really love it so working through those. Seems to get better all the time. I'm starting to think the P250 has a longer break-in cycle but could just be me. Enjoy your P250!

"LACK OF P250 PROBLEMS":

Thanks to lestuff for suggesting a retitling of my post.

I'm sort of relieved to find that other forum members have had the same satisfactory experience with their P250 as have I. I was starting to fear that I was too dumb to see some intrinsic failing in our weapons. Thanks to all.

700 trouble free rounds here so far and I'll be shooting another 200 rounds tomorrow. The P250 is an amazing firearm.

I would agree... I noticed that trend lately too.

My only problem was pulling the trigger with the assembly out of the grip for cleaning. I panicked when a bar popped out attached to two springs.

Was easy to put back in; I wasnt ready to take it apart that much.

Yup ... happened to me too, but I can't fault the P250 for my bad. Call it the "Oops factor."

500-600 rounds, various ammo to include CCI Blazer Brass. Problem free, fun to shoot and quite accurate!

First range session for me was about 800 rounds of 147 gr Hydrashok - not a single problem. Second range session was about 300 rounds of the same - no problems. Third range session was another 300-400 rounds of M882 9mm FMJ - no problems.

The only issues I've had with mine were controls rusting (addition of lube solved that!), and "short stroking" the trigger 2-3 times - which is a user training problem, not related to the gun.

All in all, I'm just about ready to put it into full service...

Regards,

Kevin

wow! 1100 rds of Hydrashok in two sessions?! That's good break in but must have cost half as much as the gun! ;-) frankly i wish i had done that. I think i can say that all my early problems were with cheap range / reload ammo. I think we should advise new 250 owners to start with full power ammo.

I stopped by the range today for a quick sight in on my 1911 but couldn't leave without putting a few thru the 250. I shot about 100rds of the Fiocchi 1350fps through it and it just ate it up. That's hot ammo, btw, but fun to shoot.

Problems:

Lack of 40 S&W and 45 ACP Sig 250's. Hell, It's only been a year since Sig announced the P250 and its modular concept.

The guide rod broke on mine a while back. The larger end was cracked. I discovered it while cleaning the gun after a extended range session. Sig had a new one on my doorstep the next day.
It has never failed to go bang when I've pulled the trigger. I Love it. Very happy with the gun.

I haven't had any issues with my P250. I really like the trigger. It has been very accurate too.

Last week I was with most of the Academy staff and one of the production employees. I was told the 45ACP will be out in a few weeks. It is listed as third quarter 08 in their literature so it is right on schedule.
