Awesome deal, congrats and enjoy! I have a DW Specialist in 9mm that I'm very happy with, they make some great pistols. ________________________ Sic transit gloria mundi Canadian Coast Guard - Retired

Rogue, my man! Please return that gun to the nice deaf, dumb, blind man from whom you stole it! Risk the consequences of honesty...

Spent the evening fitting the checkered flat mainspring housing. Significantly better, both in ergonomics as well as texture, than the grooved arched housing it came with from the factory. I still need to hit the bare filed areas on the housing with some Oxpho Blue later this weekend. Fancy cocobolo grips should be here Monday.

Oh stewardess, I speak jive. |
Call the Police, you straight stole the thing at that price. Sweet pistol, even sweeter deal.

That was just a quick photo with fading light. Doesn't really do the grips justice. They have nice grain. I got them from here: https://www.fusionfirearms.com...obolo-beveled-bottom I also replaced the grip screws with Wilson Combat hex screws. Because flat-head grip screws on a nice gun bug me... No matter what, the screws always look a little bit buggered up.

While that A2 was an amazing deal, it wasn't really what I wanted. The blued finish especially, which was pretty, but I think it'd be a bit too fragile for me. Luckily, I got such a great deal that I was able to do some horse trading, and end up with what I wanted. I traded the A2 and some holsters for a M1A, and then sold my second M1A and used some of those funds to purchase a new old stock Dan Wesson Valor Commander from a dealer. It's a 2016 production, but I'm the first owner. It was priced around dealer cost ($1250). Not too shabby for a $650 investment. It's not a bobtail, but neither was the A2. And this NOS non-bob Valor was several hundred less than a VBOB. I'm much happier with the Commander-length barrel and more robust matte stainless finish. Plus, compared to the A2, the Valors have night sights, a checkered front strap, and some additional time spent on hand-fitting and blending. This message has been edited. Ugh....I am going to just have to give in. Maybe dump the Kimber and Ruger to fund the Valor. Very, very nice. _______________________________ The artist formerly known as AllenInWV

It's nice and you did well. The stainless is very clean looking.

Nice upgrade... Glad you got the one you wanted. Sounds like a good deal too. I will say though, if you want a VBob they are out there for a similar $ figure. I got mine for ~$1300 OTD last year around tax time. Mine is 9mm, so that may have contributed to it's low price also. A Perpetual Disappointment...
