I have the new 229 SAS Gen 2; I have the enos "slide guide" (medium grade)--so just where do I put it and how much? And should I do a full clean before application? It came from the Custom Shop pretty wet already, and I have putonly 100 rounds through her.

For me, it makes sense to apply it in the frame and the slide grooves. When you re-assemble the slide onto the frame, all sliding contact surfaces are coated. It's very easy to apply with an artist's brush. Don't forget the barrel. All shiny parts of the barrel get greased too. As for a full clean; it's not a bad idea. And any part of the gun that does not have metal to metal contact is wiped bone dry with isopropyl alcohol; though a little Jack Daniels will do in a pinch. A dry gun stays cleaner... no oil film in the dust cover, magazine well, breech face, etc. attracting powder residue. __________________________________________________________________________________________ "Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclination, or the dictates of our passions; they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."
