Well Christmas is around the corner and everyone usually gets me money. I was thinking on using it along with some of my own cash to get a new handgun. Should I get a Sig P226R in 9mm or a new XDm in 9mm. I am leaning towards the Sig because if I order it a bit early I can take advantage of the LEO/Military rebate. Even if this is offered next year I won't be able to take advantage of it because my military I.D. expires in Feb. Plus the new XDm might be a little hard to find since it is so new.
My only reservation about getting the Sig is in regards to some of the negative postings that I have read regarding Sig's QC. What do you guys think.
Purchased a Sig P226 in 9mm about a month ago after some heavy research in this forum. My only regret is that I didnt get it sooner..... If you got too much Xmas money e-mail me I will send my address LOL
I have picked up a P220 beavertail and a P229 Elite stainless this month and the fit and finish are super . I wouldn't fret over their QC. With that said, I also have an XDM and they are nice! A tough decision lies ahead!!
Budsgunshop.com currently has XDM9s in stock for I think 620.00 delivered

I'd go with the P226. The LEO discount program won't be around forever and my guess is the XDm pricing will fall over time as sufficient supply gets into the market. Plus, the P226 is a magnificant pistol.

I'm with Sigfreund on this. You won't find any real issues with the 226. It is one of the finest pistols out there and has a great track record. The only QC "issues" I think you'll find is the 220 extractor.
