You're welcome to your opinion; you've got to go with what works for you, as do we all.

You're right. One failure is one too many, and at the wrong time, could get you killed (or for competitors, cost a few seconds on a clock).

There is a difference, however, between using a standard pearce baseplate, and an extended one for extra capacity.

Would you two fucking knock it off? You said your peace now move along. I'd really not like to have this get locked over a pissing contest that has zero to do with the orignal request

I have 3 types-Pearce, TTI and Magguts. I never had a problem with any of them so far but Murphy's Law can happen anywhere/anytime. The Magguts is the last one I bought so it has not had that much of a chance to prove itself to me. It is interesting in that it uses a different type of insert and floor plate, kind of like tugging at each other in different directions. The TTI are the most expensive and I usually find them on the used market much cheaper. Depending on how much more ammo. you want to add to the mag, you might want to get bigger springs to handle that difference in the magazine tube and the extension.

I have the Pearce with no issues.

Though like the look of those Hyve +2

And Suarez +1

I don't have a problem with just the +1 but if you add anymore, personally, I would change the springs.

Before my wife got her 43 I bought 4 TT extensions for it so it has never been shot with anything else. They have worked great.

I love Taren Tac base plates and use them on a lot of guns. I wish they'd make them for more.

I've never had an issue.

A base plate is a base plate. Anything can fail. It makes no sense to think a OEM baseplate is magically capable of staying on and an aftermarket one will fall off. If I am to choose between a plastic base plate and a machined aluminum one, I'll take the aluminum one please. Part of why I like Wilson 1911 mags.

Anything can fail and be poorly designed. History and track record give me confidence. Taran has them.

i have shoot about 15k round with my glock 43 divided by 6 mags with TT+2 base plates. I have noticed how tight the last round sits so i have failed to fully lock the mag in the pistol sometimes and the ejector actually bends slightly sideways with the eight round.

That Suarez is big for a +1. The Taran is smaller. Of course you may want the pinky room.

I bought 3 Taran T mags, +2 rounders, 2 red and 1 black. The red ones are a signal that the mag is loaded. The black is never loaded and used for dry fire. Never had a problem with them. Wish they had them for my 380 EZ.
