If I were limited to one gun and one barrel, it would be a P229 chambered for 40 S&W because of long term ammunition supply concerns. If a second barrel were an option, my primary would be 357 SIG with 40 as backup—as it is now.
Every decision pertaining to a defensive firearm involves compromises. After all the compromises are reached and decisions are made, though, I consider the P229 to be an excellent defensive handgun capable of being carried concealed.
“Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy

Sig X-five Golden Dragon would be my ideal CCW for the ghetto region of Ohio. Just kidding. Of the Sig lineup, I would have to lean towards a P229 in .40 S&W although as previously stated, Sig doesn't really make an ideal CCW. I carry plastic as my CCW.
