See if the store has one of those so-called tag deactivators (really a giant strong magnet) and see if they can let you pass both sides of your gun over it a few times. If there is a security strip in there, this will hopefuly break it. If you try it, please let us know if this works. God Bless |

well now you need to take the gun apart.
Walk in with just the slide then just the frame and we'll see what is setting it off. ------------------------------ The Problem With Peace Is It Never Fights. |

Problem: The Sig Pro 2022 has a RFID chip in it. It was a requirment of the French government, to make the administration of the gun and its use/repairs foolproof/easier. |

This has really got me curious now. Based on my limited knowledge of the sensormatic system, RFID chips should not set it off, and most of their systems do not incorporate metal detectors. Wonder if there's something in the metalurgy of the Glock that resembles the metal in the security tags?
As someone else suggested: Can you carry the slide and then the frame through separately? |

We got Dad some easy slip on shoes one summer and they never did get the strip turned off. He set the alarms off all the time at Kmart, but no where else.

Interesting...
I had a shirt once that had a sensor hidden in the sleeve. Was Old Navy or something. Never had a problem till I went and tried on coats one day, one of the coat sensors must have reactivated the tag in the shirt. Was a real PITA until I figured it out. _____________________________ "I am free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally." -W.C. Fields |

I called H&K yesterday about some parts, and while on the phone with them, I asked about the RFID tags. They said that the only commercial firearms they put them in were the P2000's, and they said it was for inventory control purposes. They also said that the military has ordered some weapons with RFID tags to track what goes in and out of the armory, but they have since gone away from it because of the high cost of the scanners. Also said that only two scanners were ever bought from them (commercial market). One is in Germany, the other is in New Hampshire, and is not turned on, as they put it.
