Stopped at local gun store to look around. Found this KC date code W German P226 with triple matching serial numbers for $599. Sights dead, but super clean and looks like very low round count. Third 226 in armory and I’m very happy.

Sorry for distorted photo.

Back on Small Business Saturday I took a Ruger Security Six and a Mossberg 930 to a LGS with the intent on getting a Gen 5 Glock 17 maybe. They were offering 10% off new guns with a qualifying trade. Wound up leaving with a barely used JJ coded triple serialed 226. Didn't need it but definitely wanted it. There is nothing like a West German 226.

What I like most about the W. German models are the plain checkered grips. I don't like the current one with stippling and the model number molded onto it. I'm very surprised that no one has made an old style grip that fits current dimensions.
