Are gun prices low because of the election of Donald J. Trump as President or is it a combination of that and oversaturation after Obama's threatened gun confiscation?

It's also a slow season for selling guns. Lots of individuals sell them now for vacations, home improvements, etc, so the secondary market is also flooded. It's GREAT time to buy. Quality AR's, for example, can be had for around 500 bucks. Some companies are even offering rebates.

We keep hearing about under trump, leftists are buying guns. I don't believe it. Now leftists stealing guns? That, I believe.

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People again must learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. ~ Cicero 55 BC

They might be buying a gun, but they don't really know what "buying guns" is all about. Wink

Well, I think Rhino’s list pretty well nails it. They only other thing I can attribute to it is fatigue, pure and simple. I will continue to pick up ammo and magazines while the supply is great and prices are low, but I’m not going to do it with the gusto I was going about it in 2015 and 2016. I’m just about burned out on black plastic.

I can second the possible 'burn out'.

I'm stocked up nice. The only firearm I've purchased in a year has a been a splurge Beretta 92A1 last month but the deal was worth it ($550 shipped).

The only things I plan to buy in the next year are optics, ammo, spares, and magazines (when deals occur).

I could probably still fall for another sexy Beretta 92 series if the money and time was right.

I've bought more guns under the Trump Presidency than I did under Obama. It's definitely a buyer's market right now and I'm happy to take advantage of the low prices.

I've not heard any reports of the chronic shortages that plagued the market from '08 to the last election. Thank goodness.

Barry was the best gun salesman in history. Rhinos in charge people relax, firearm and ammo sales slow down massively. A lib gets elected and people get scared and buy lots.

Now would be a good time to get a few lowers though. They should be giving them away by now.

I'd give 50, maybe 60% to Trump and the rest to all the other factors combined. You can't tell me there wouldn't have been another "gun panic" like those of 2008 and 2012 if Queen Bitch had won the election.

Prices are down as we are less worried about banning certain firearms and mags. I admit I bought a Noveske AR and many dozens of various mags and many thousands of rounds before the election. I assumed HRC was going to win, so I invested a lot of money in arms. Now, that fear is gone and the prices are down. But I say buy it cheap and stack it deep! I continue to add to my ammo stash.

Myself, I got (back into intensely) into firearms from 2010 to 2017 or so and have eased back for 1.5 years. I'll be back...

Thanks for the post and I agree with you 1000% FishOn. I bought 40 extra 30R AR 15 magazines, extra ammo, and 2 AR15's I did not need and are still brand new. Head of DNC said the socialist Alexandria Cortez, another extremist, is the the face of the DNC. New 2nd Amend. attacks will follow in the next 3 years.
